Andreasvb
- Adding magnet links when running from portable USB drive will not show any files to select in Add New Torrent-dialog.Steps to reproduce:1. Place utorrent.exe and create settings.dat on a portable USB drive (not HDD).2. Add Torrent from URL.3. Paste magnet link.4. Wait for it do download and rename .torrent.Result: No files to select, need to select the from the Files-tab after- When a .torrent-file gets downloaded and renamed from a magnet link and you cancel the Add New Torrent-dialog. it doesn't remove the .torrent-file.Steps to reproduce:1. USB or normal portable, doesn't matter.2. Add Torrent from URL.3. Paste magnet link.4. Cancel dialog when it has got the .torrentResult: Renamed .torrent-file remains (even after exiting µTorrent). ciaobaby
1. USB or normal portable, doesn't matter.2. Add Torrent from URL.3. Paste magnet link.4. Cancel dialog when it has got the .torrentResult: Renamed .torrent-file remains (even after exiting µTorrent).Perfectly normal behaviour there, if the .torrent file has not been loaded, the client does not 'know' it actually exists. Because cancelling the job before the loading process takes place means it has not been added to resume.dat

rafi
if the .torrent file has not been loaded, the client does not 'know' it actually exists. It does, since it was associated to it, and opened this dialogue with it's metadata... If to delete it or not - it is a design decision. I'd say - yes, delete it.. ciaobaby
and opened this dialogue with it's metadata...Maybe, but until the Ok button on the Add Torrent dialogue is 'clicked' the job is NOT loaded and is NOT commited to resume.dat, and as such, the application has no record of the .torrent file that has been created from the magnet data. Andreasvb
I just dislike it creating files I don't/won't need, that's all. This was most a test from the other thread about resume.dat being reset and as such I experienced this behaviour.

Just didn't agree, that 's all. I can do that, right? It opens a file from, the temporary internet files location, moved it to .torrent location and left it there... It's a poor design. It should have left it's own ".torrent home path" as it was.
ciaobaby
It opens a file from, the temporary internet files location, moved it to .torrent location and left it there...Not with a magnet link. The metadata is downloaded from peers and a .torrent file is created on the fly.
rafi
a .torrent file is created on the fly.Moved, created - does it matter to the point? Being a new leftover file being placed and not deleted on Cancel ? sheesh ... I think I'll give up at this point...

rafi
3.3.2 B29806 issues:(present in 3.3.1 B29812) Stopper issues: 2. Updating of "standalone" exe+settings or c:\programs... install-> puts the new exe into %appdata%\uTorrent (with wrong settings) instead of just replacing the exe, as well as result in loosing all user settings for stand-alone installs (does not copy the old settings files). Plus, no documentation is available, and restore operation is not working 2a. A wrong help-file-version is being retrieved by F1 Other known issues that might effect some people: 3. "Add torrent" dialogue option ( 'Create - subfolder') are not being preserved/persistent in the subsequent "Add"s 4. Auto-shutdown/* when downloads complete options do not take forced seeding jobs into account, and aborts them even when set to "when everything completes" . "Hibernate when download complete triggers only when everything (seeding) completes. 4a. Auto-shutdown on Downloads Complete - does not trigger per zero # of jobs , but on low DL speed. DL overhead due to seeding breaks the auto-trigger, and may halt the countdown too. 5. Occasional 'Disk overload' throttles speeds for some users, mainly at higher speeds (seems to show up here @~12MB/sec ) http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=729144#p729144 , Apparently, settings diskio.sparse_files = TRUE helps even when pre-allocate is enabled. Needs investigations! 7. resume.dat file is not being updated per-event/state-change, causing some data-loss, files being re-checked after shutdown by Windows + re-run & other side-effects between sessions 8. RSS auto-added torrents have the wrong "Added" time-stamp (or none). It uses the <pubdate> in the feed instead of the local time when it was added as should be. No Added-On time-stamp is shown now for previously added torrents in RSS view. 9. At higher download rates, pieces are not being written from cache to disk ASAP (if set to do so) and are being stuck in cache, plus there are a few reported cases (unconfirmed) of infinite "flushing" when download completes (leftover pieces in cache?) or infinite "allocation" when download starts (permission/priv. issues? Admin priv. needed?). Added (21-May): 11. For a downloading torrent - on a Disk full condition, pre-allocate enabled, sparse=false it does not change from downloading to stopped-with-error state, but recycle (start-stop) the download due to the resume_min "feature". 12. User defined Search Engines list is missing separator-lines defined by empty lines in the user-list 14. Alternate upload rate is too sensitive to near-zero download rates. http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=731002#p731002. Should be job-related and not speed, or the speed threshold should be set to 10 instead of 0. Added (14-June): 15. Sometimes, .torrent files are not being deleted when we "delete data + .torrent" (partially fixed for magnets in 3.4). Also, deleting while downloading sometimes (rarely) crashes uTorrent. 15a. Data files from multi-files torrents seems to be leftover as well when delete+data an active torrent. 15b. .torrent files are not being moved on completion if set to do so http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=738310#p738310 16. Green Network Status Icon is not detecting blocked port, due to incoming DHT connections 17. Seeding jobs (possibly downloading too) are not being resumed after hibernation 18. Paused torrent is not stoppable after restart Added (29-June): 19. "Move completed" + "only from default path" does not work now for RSS downloads that are defined with non-default paths. Added (10-July): 20. Tray icon seems to not always display in Win XP. The theory is because of it being in a compressed format. Using an uncompressed tray.ico file seems to bypass the issue. Added (16-July): 21. 3.3.2 has smaller fonts than 3.3.1 , which make is more difficult to read on a now *standard* 1920x1080 resolution. Regression? Added (3-Auguest): 22. 3.3.2 "Setup-guide" fails open-port test. It seems to pass only if uPNP is enabled http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=746960#p746960 Added (6-Auguest): 4a above Added (15-Auguest): 2b above Added (17-September): 15 above (delete crashes) Added (20-September): 8 above (RSS time-stamp) 5 above modified (disk overload, sparse + pre-allocation side-effect) 23 3.3.2 Regression in "Run Program": %F is replaced with random file name instead of blank for multi-files torrent http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=141574 24. When starting to download a torrent - when the disk space is not enough, pre-allocate enabled, sparse=TRUE, it does not change from downloading to stopped-with-error state, but continues to download till the disk is empty (with partial download). This is against preallocate "regulations"... 25. RSS view seems to no longer be operative after a day or so of uTorrent running (here, with my settings) Added 4-October: 26. Enabling advanced->diskio.spares_files at the same time that "per-allocate files" is enabled too - seems to have effect to the disk IO operations. According to the help file - it should not. This can be an indication to some underlying file IO issue and better be analyzed. 27. the "Change destination folder" dialog picks up the wrong text (caption instead of path) 28. After pressing "Cancel" in add-magnet dialogue - you cannot add this magnet again, Needs restart. 29. RSS feeds that are missing the optional "day" in the timestamps, or are using "GMT" - do not display "added-on" time. 30. RC5: When uploading/seeding, it seems that peers does not choke/cycle any more. (no "O" flag.) . Also, maybe a shorter, 60 seconds default as inactivity time can improve peers-cycling. Added 13-October: 31. b30180: When set to move download after completion - there are random symptoms of loosing them http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=142330 http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=754412#p754412 xx. - low priorityyy. - medium priorityzz. - high priority
