Utorrent 64-bit version

I was wondering wich version is the latest stable version of Utorrent x64?

Why is that, i hade to locate a old version of utorrent and i found a 3.0 version wich i downloaded.

I installed it couse utorrent 32-bit kept crashing when downloading at higher speeds.

 

But now with this 64-bit version i dosent..

 

Why did you guys stop making 64-bit versions?

Because the benefit of having 64-bit doesn't outweigh the development time cost.

 

If you're using that version, you're not supported.

Ok.., well

 

I cannot use an 32-bit version because it crashes all the time due cache problems and thats why am using a 64-bit utorrent.

Utorrent 3.0 build 25570 64-bit.

 

The reason is that you can override the cache more then 1800 wich is the most in utorrent 32-bit, when i set it to 5000 i dosen't crash on me anymore.

 

I need to use that version or else i need to switch to another client who supports 64-bit like Vuze.

And we don't want that do we:)

Trying to have a high disk cache is the cause of your problem. Turn it DOWN.

What is the best setting?

Also why is my files goes up to 99% then stops.., all files are brownish red colour and begin to turn green.

Some setting to change that?

Thats the same for 32 and 64 version..

The best setting is to NOT override it or keep it low.

 

Availability of the files is what is causing your problem for not being able to complete.

What do you mean with "Availability of the files" on the torrent or what?

If there isn't a complete set of the pieces of the torrent, you won't be able to complete.

It's the availability row on the info tab.

Ive now installed the 32-bit version, and we will se if it will crash.

But i still have the same problem with files only going up to 99%.

and then finishes as soon as all the pieces has gone from brownis red.., not the varning red, lighter red to green.

It says flushing to disk now..

 

Is there any setting to be able to go to green direct when they download?

Reset your cache settings back to default. All of them.

Couse i couldent find any default button under cache..

 

I got this settings now:
 

Reduce memory ussage when cache is not needed: Disabled

Write out untouched blocks every 2 minutes: Disabled

Write out finished pieces immediately: Enabled
Turn off read caching if the upload speed is slow: Disabled

Remove old blocks from the cache: Enabled

Increase automatic cache size when cache trashing: Enabled

 

What should i change?

i think utorrent is just f**ed up nowadays. i am an utorrent user for nearly 10 years and just thinking to give up this client because sometimes client warns me that memory is insufficient, but my desktop computer is i7 4 gb ram with 1 tb hdd so wtf is that!? developers if you do not make your client to work as an 64-bit, you will surely lose so many users.

How many torrents do you have in the list, and your disk cache settings?

 

Mine uses around 200 MB RAM with 1600+ torrents with automatic cache.

Hi people: I apologize beforehand for saying it but I think you guys at uTorrent are WRONG about the "development costs" of producing a current 64 bit version of the program. And you know why?

 

To answer that let's see:

 

1) Pratically ALL new PC's currently been sold are 64-bit, NOT 32-bit (it means that the 32 bit market share is dwindling to nothing). And I do not recall anyone still supplying a 8-bit or 16-bit version of any program on the grounds of "costs of development". Said otherwise, it means that if you guys persist on the stupid idea of promoting 32-bit versions of uTorrent that with time YOUR MARKET-SHARE WILL DWINDLE TO NOTHING!!! (and THAT cost you a LOT MORE than a few hundred thousand dollars in development money!!!);

 

2) A 64-bit program is FASTER than the 32-bit version of the same program on the same plataform (and this is logical because on 64-bit you are able to process TWICE the load in the same amount of time).

 

3) Computers running 64-bit versions of Windows run 32-bit programs in a "protected environment" (which means that running a 32-bit program in a 64-bit PC is MUCH SLOWER than running the same 32-bit program on the same machine running a 32-bit version of the same Windows OS).

 

And if those are not enough reasons just consider my case: I was a pissed-off customer of uTorrent because I was getting a lot of trouble with ALL 32-bit versions of uTorrent released for the last 2 years (including the latest 3.4.2 version): for example (a) my PC sometimes would simply refuse to work (freezing solid as in the Artic); ( uTorrent would have a lot of "disc overload 100%" regardless of default configurations, small numbers of torrents running in parallel, choking the connection speed, etc, etc, etc; © with uTorrent running even more than a few torrents at the same time my Internet surfing would be reduced to the speed of a baby crawling on the sand on the beach; (d) etc, etc, etc, etc, etc.

 

In desperation and because I DID NOT WANT to change to Vuze or others P2P client programs, I relutantly installed an old beta 64 bit version [v. 3.0.25570] of uTorrent I found on the Internet and I was "prepared" to be disappointed with the source (with the program being infected with virii or Trojans) and/or with the program experiencing crashes, freezes and other problems with a "beta" version.

 

And you know what bad happened? NOTHING !!!

 

I now can run on 8GB of RAM memory some 250 torrents (with 40 "active" downloads and 10 "active" uploads at the same time), weighing some 250 GB in total and with some 10,000 archives WITHOUT A SINGLE GLITCH !!!! No freezes, no "disc overloads", nothing, just plain speed and speed and speed and speed and speed !!!!

 

So, PLEASE, uTorrent folks DO NOT BE STUBBORN: COME OUT OF THE 20th CENTURY AND GET INTO THE 64-BITS PRESENT OR YOUR FUTURE AS A COMPANY WILL BE NIHIL !!!!

While it doesn't particularly mean a 64-bit will process twice the amount information than a 32-bit, theoretically it is possible. But definitely not x2 in the same amount of time.

Hey i mean no disrepect. I absolutely love uTorrent and the work you guys do to provide such a wonderful product to the people. And i will support whatever direction you take. But i agree with Joao on this one, the 32-bit market is on a sinking ship. Even iphone 5s supports 64-bit now. But hey great product guys ill forever be a proud supporter of uTorrent.

Incidentally a 32-bit system can use more than 4GB of RAM, that it cannot is a pervasive myth. Microsoft has elected to only implement this functionality in some of its server OSes.

we are not enemies. we are also lovers of utorrent which gives us everything throughout the beginning, as well as free. these users you see in that post

-dear admin-, are just seeds of a breaking point. these users, especially me, do "not" just to make conversation about 64 bit support. we want it because we want to see utorrent stay faster, and "reliable" (key point you know what i mean "reliable" you admin?) if you want to stay on your "ego", like you say "development costs", or "you are not supported" bla bla bla... you can just go and f*k yourself okay? this is what i mean. utorrent is just a f*king "bittorrent" client and it is all. you are not the kings. there is so so so many alternatives. just remember this everytime okay?
