LadyTaz
My uTorrent keeps closing down (crashing). It seems to be running fine and when I leave the room for a while and come back, it has shut down. It is no longer open.I must keep turning it back on.What can be the problem? Can anyone help?Thank you
mcaspi
The only thing I can think of is a hacker that has access to your computer and closes uT. They like doing annoying things. Scan your computer for viruses using ESET online virus scanner.
magnixus
Mine is doing the same thing, utorrent 3.2 and i know i dont have a hacker on mine.. so how about a real explanation as to why that is happening...I do have 81 torrents queued , would that be the issue? I dont remember it crashing with like only 10 or so.
mcaspi
First, what I wrote is a real explanation. One more thing I can think of is a corrupted file. Stop all torrent then run 40 of them. See if it crashes. if not, run the other 41. Continue cutting the crashing group in half until you'll find a torrent that might crash uT when started. TalonZa
I'm having the same issue. I leave uTorrent with scheduling over night and when I come back to my computer in the morning I find it is no longer running. TalonZa
Is there a way to turn on Logging so I can perhaps give you some useful information? I found the following in my Windows Logs: Windows detected your registry file is still in use by other applications or services. The file will be unloaded now. The applications or services that hold your registry file may not function properly afterwards. DETAIL - 2 user registry handles leaked from \Registry\User\S-1-5-21-2001087658-4236753898-1654426457-1000_Classes:Process 5404 (\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-2001087658-4236753898-1654426457-1000_CLASSESProcess 5404 (\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Users\Administrator\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe) has opened key \REGISTRY\USER\S-1-5-21-2001087658-4236753898-1654426457-1000_CLASSES In a separate log I also found this: The following application was terminated because it was hung: uTorrent.exe. Railrider
Having the same issue and also running BitDefender so think it's the problem. Unfortunately, I'm not getting rid off BitDefender so I'll just have to live with it until someone can come up with a fix.

robotkakas
one more note the compatibility fix didn t helped in my case (although even windows itself corrected something, service pack 3 setting, run as administrator). stopping win defender also didn t work, and naturally my firewall was set well so no problem there...
