stephisaleo
I was adding a torrent and I had forgot I had said yes to the update. The torrent never appeared in my list and I deleted utorrent and reinstalled. It is still telling me that the torrent is in my list when I only have 3 torrents in my list. In a last effort to get it working I deleted all in active torrents. It was a magnet link torrent and it's really making me want to through something against the wall. I tried doing the reset thing for the list-view and that hasn't solved anything. HELP please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

55jwb
I am having the same problem, I clicked magnetic link to download a torrent, utorrent loaded as usual and started updating and then when I try to download the torrent it suggests it is already in the list but is is not there... I have used the advice above and checked the "hidden" in labels but still having the same problem

Plasibo
I just experienced the same problem. But there are many details not mentioned in the description of the problem. Namely, when I try to open a torrent file or try to download through magnet link the uTorrent program starts (the file is associated) but no window is displayed in which I can choose the location or the label of the torrent file, and moreover I get the message "The torrent file you are trying to add is already in the list of torrents, Do you want to load the trackers from it".And no matter what I choose the file is not shown in the "Downloading" nor in the "Torrents".I've checked in the "Labels" -> "Hidden" and there it was with status "Error: Can't open .torrent file". And to be more interesting, when trying to add another torrent, the message "The torrent file you are trying to add is already in the list of torrents, Do you want to load the trackers from it" does NOT appear but the uTorrent application is blinking once, like it is recognizing the file but does nothing...I try to delete it, and add another torrent, and sometimes only the firstly added torrent file is shown in the "Hidden" and all others are missing from everywhere... sometimes the app is blinking and no torrent is shown in no folder...The message "The torrent file you are trying to add is already in the list of torrents, Do you want to load the trackers from it" appears only for the firstly added torrent file... When the problem occurred I used the 3.4.2 build 32354 stable version, and afterwards tried the newest beta version, and with no progress. Can you please help me, because I am using this program for 10+ years now. Thank you in advance.
DreadWingKnight
The window is likely indeed being generated off-screen from your main monitor. Most people we've encountered with this problem either have multiple monitors or have had multiple monitors in the past.
BigDan1
I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to add a torrent which as far as I can see isnt here. I've even search in Win Explorer for it. I only have one monitor. I also restarted. No fix.

I have 'plus' should I remove and download again??
Plasibo
I've solved the problem !!!I've noticed that many people that complain to this problem have two monitors (I have two monitors also). But I did as everyone else did, unplugged the other monitor and did restart but with no improvement... After DreadWingKnight suggested that the window is generated on some other screen I thought to disable generation of screen and to start the download automatically (Options -> Preferences -> UI Settings -> WHen Adding Torrents -> UNCHECK the option "Show option to change the name and location of the torrent data"). And now when adding torrent the file is added in active downloading files and there is no problem. So definitely, there must be some bug, I guess, that generate the OPTION window in non-visible area and it should be fixed, but there is a workaround at least. Bentechtard
Had the same issue after update to 3.4.2However as the name indicates either I was too stupid to manage or my case was particularly messed up since I neither had a second screen installed...ever nor didi I had one in my display settings. What DID help was going into the µ torrent directory and look for the "settings" files. There should be two of them one .dat (active one) and one .dat.old (the one µ torrent deemed unworthy and replaced it with something that cost me a relaxed morning).Anyway, rename setting.dat.old to setting.dat (rename settings.dat into settings.dat.bugged or so) and downloading torrents should work again like it used to. Hope this helps anybody.Peace
Original Aethyz
Plasibo Thanks for that, I've been having this issue for quite a while and this actually helped perfectly though my only thought is if this will be a permanent fix or just a temporary one.. Again thank you so much for your issue fixing comment!

IMI4tth3w
Just want to say i had this same problem and it was fixed by Plasibo's method. The whole multiple monitors thing makes sense, because i just had to RMA my graphics card, and normally i have 3 displays hooked up. Currently i'm running on integrated graphics and only 1 monitor while i was for the graphics card to RMA. The strange thing is usually the window should pop up in the bottom but not appear on the correct screen. But regardless, this bug is still happening almost a year later :/
Hbomb
This is how i fixed the problem: I have two monitors and when i try to add a torrent it asks if i want to load the trackers from it. What i did was first go to lables on the left hand side and click the "+" then go into "hidden" and delete and remove the .torrent and torrent data from them. then go to the desktop and right-click and select "screen resolution" and i choose my secondary monitor and selected "make this my main display" and the clicked accecpt. i then undone those actions and put my main monitor back to how i had it. then the next time i added a torrent the window actually showed up and let me add the torrent!
