Rss downloader stopped working properly

Hi,

For the last few days(maybe a little more) the RSS downloader is not working right for me.

It won't automatically update the feeds and download the files I want.

I tried one time to update manually and it worked. The second time I updated manually, it automitcally tagged all the files as "Previously downloaded"

I am using utorrent 3.4.2 (32126) on Win 8.

Any ideas?

It's been broke for the longest time (a few builds) now and you would think the Devs would make this a priority...BUT NOOOOO!...If they would only check the forums and Rafi's list once in a while they would see what their priorities are and what not to fix/add or mess up....Their direction lately is profit and everything else seems to be on the back-burner.

So we may see a fix for this in 3+ months?

3 months is optimistic unless people post their brains out about this problem!..There is power in numbers but it's up to utorrent/bittorrent users to make their voices be heard or Bitorrent Inc. will do what they've been doing for years since the buy-out.

  • 3 weeks later...

For now, the only "solution" I found is to re-start uTorrent a couple of times, until it starts to work... :P

Here is how I think I managed to bypass the issue of RSS not being activated on startup:

1. Create a batch/cmd file

2. If your user is not with admin privileges, enable your utorrent.exe properties-> compatibility->run-as-admin

3. Make sure you "unblock" the exe if you see this button enabled in properties

4. Insert the following line in the cmd fo;e"

    start /b /belownormal /D "<utorrent-path-name>" uTorrent.exe

5. Run utorrent by using this batch file , or using/creating a link to it, with 'run minimized' set

Trying it with the latest beta build - Version 3.4.2  build 33145 .  See if it works for you too... :)

This is how you check it it works or not:
