njcam
I have noticed that the active tab jumps to 'Info' tab after approx. 10 minutes. I always keep the active tab as 'Peers', I have tried this about 4 or 5 times and it definitely jumps to Info. uTorrent 3.4.2 Beta (build 33290) 32-bit
rafi
I don't see that in the latest 3.4.2 stable (33254).
qazserNOS
I have the exact same issue with 3.4.2 (33870). It's getting very annoying as I like to check the speed tab often and want to keep it always open. Because of this bug I now have to click on the Speed tab almost every time I want to do that since it changes to the Info tab by itself. The problem started a few days ago presumably after an automatic update. I haven't changed any settings. Only other weird thing I have noticed is that a few days ago my uTorrent started in some other view than Torrents, I can't remember if it was the Bundles of the Upgrade to Plus view. nebasztass
Same issue started a few days ago with 3.4.2 (34024).I think it has something to do with the ads, the first time it happened, utorrent just popped up, a new ad came in at the top, and since then it switches to the info tab regularly. The most frustrating thing is, that once you switch the tab, it looses the file selection in the file tab, so when watching a series, I have to find where I left off. uTorrent 3.4.2 Beta (build 34024) 32-bit
nebasztass
I've tried to turn off the info tab by unselecting it from the tab list, and it still popped up!So I shut down utorrent completely, checked the Task Manager if it really did it and found out I have Ask Toolbar running. It was installed four days ago without my consent, few days after the new utorrent version came out (2014-09-24 vs 2014-09-18).I think that's when the problem started.I'm waiting to see if it does it again after the restart, if it does then i'll look into this Ask Toolbar whether it has anything to do with the problem. HowardB
I've noticed exactly the same with the stable version installed a few days ago, it keeps changing info tabs to the "Recommended" tab, very irritating. As already mentioned, I also noticed that if you hide the "Detailed Info" it pops back after a while showing the "Recommended" tab again. I made sure the Ask Toolbar was not selected during install (I loath toolbars...); also set the preferences to not update automatically: uTorrent 3.4.2 Stable (build 34309) 32-bit

mr.underperson
I have the latest beta and I am still seeing this bug. It's driving me nuts! Please explain the "bellow" settings that will stop this behaviour. -mu
WindowsStar
I am having the same issue. This is so annoying (Please, please, please fix) I did not post anything here for a long time hoping it would be fixed after a few builds but this has been going on for a very long time. This has happened from the approximately the last 12 builds. I am using 3.4.2 34944 and it is still doing this the software jumps to the "Info" tab about every 10 to 15 minutes when I always want it on the "Peers" tab. Also the software will not stay on the Downloading or Seeding labels when adding a new torrent it jumps to Torrents label this is very annoying. The software used to stay on the labels and tabs unless you closed/exited the software. Hope this will be fixed soon. Thank you in advanced. -WS

Replacing my settings.dat with anothers' is not an option (in fact, it's mental).I have a bencode editor. If someone knows WHICH setting is the problem I could fix it in seconds! -mu
voskat
Still no news on this? It's a very irritating bug because it just happens constantly. It's come to the point where I'm considering trying out other torrent programs.

DexLuther
Want to try with my settings (@sig)?Without knowing everything and exactly what your settings file does (or how/where to install it), I don't think many people will.
rafi
Without knowing everything and exactly what your settings file does (or how/where to install it), I don't think many people will.Yes and no... Yes - you should know to find your existing settings.dat (which where you exe is...) back it up, and replace Revert back whenever you like... No - you don't HAVE TO know every bit in it, only the relevant ones you need to change, as explained in my tips-guide (like adjust path names, speed limit, # of peers). If you can't read - I agree, this is a real problem ...

mr.underperson
Somehow I managed to disable this. Every time uTorrent was quit, I hacked a few suspect values inside the settings.dat until it finally started jumping to the "Recommended" tab, which I then disabled. Now it remains at "Files" all the time. At last! I still don't know exactly which setting changed this, but I know it's doable! -mu
Sancho
Found this thread searching on this problem. Very annoying problem that just started the last time I updated (was at 3.4.2 build ???; now at 3.4.2 build 34944). I went through the Advanced settings and changed a couple offers.*** to false that weren't already set that way. Just double-checked, filtering on "offer" and all that can be set to False now are. I've been checking periodically, giving it more than 10 minutes in-between checks, and it seems to have worked. If the problem returns, I'll post an update, otherwise, no news is good news. Thanks to the poster who tipped me off.
