manoszou
Hi everyone. When I add a torrent, even I haven't started donwloading, uTorrent creates the file with its original size, not the downloaded. For example, if I add a 9GB download, immediately uTorrent starts writes a 9GB file in the downloads folder, even there's no internet connection, and that makes computer unusuable until it's over, because of very high disk usage. Is there a way to write only the donwloaded bytes? Other programs (e.g. Chrome) writes only the donwloaded bytes to the disk, not the entire file. Thanks. Thanks. This features is for those whom have limited HDD/SDD space. You can turn it off in the settings for ut. I am not infront of the computer right now but you need to go to your preferences/settings and look there and you will see where it says something like "allocated Space" for torrent file and uncheck the box and it won't reserve the space for it. But for future sake you should get a bigger HDD if your having space limitation problem with uT. To me having the space reserved is alot better then having to figure what to delete or move to get more space and most likely you will either deleted the file(s) itself or something that you need. So in the end increase your storage capacity to deal with this problem.
