Only allow traffic going through vpn?

Hello, I'm using privateinternetaccess and I'm wondering how to force all the traffic through the vpn. It can auto connect at start but the problem is that applications can get through and not use my vpn when it is connecting/starting up. Preferably, please:
Not block the vpn itself from connecting
Not let applications connect to the internet using my ip for a short amount of time -If it's a short time, I don't care about this one as much.
Not basically turn off firewall protection when I'm connected
Not have to disable startup of my programs
Not effect everyone on my network
Not require two computers
I apologize for being picky.

I have already contacted their support and posted in their forums, none of those solutions were ideal.

Did you try to look on the internet as well cause there most likely someone has either found a way to do it or have some instructions to do it. Remember this is with Ut only not about VPN that is up to the user themselves to figure out.

I google and found one link and how you didn't try that at least?

I posted elsewhere about using PureVPN since it gives you a program to control which applications use the VPN. You can allow only utorrent o go through for example and I am a bit confused by your post. I was going to suggest using dd-wrt on your router to force only some traffice thoughIt sounds like you want all traffic to go through it on one machine. This should also be possible at the router level to force all traffic from one local IP through the VPN.

Best way I have found if you can find the range of IP'S that your VPN uses is to configure rules on a firewall "I use Comodo" to only allow utorrent to communicate on those IPs. Set it to block all other IPs..here is a guide with a step by step..it's for the ipredator VPN and windows firewall, but the concept is pretty much the same https://blog.ipredator.se/howto/restricting-utorrent-to-vpn-interfaces-part-1.html

Edit:Just realized that that's the same link PiusX posted..sorry!..it's a sound setup though works great for me

That is way to much work ut uses so many seeders that your ip to those can change and doing what your doing will hinder rather then help.

Your not blocking the IPs that you are seeding to or leeching from your telling the firewall to only let utorrent communicate over the ip that was assigned to you from your vpn..not checking their IPs your checking yours to make sure it's going through the vpn server

The rules would be

[Outgoing)

Block utorrent unless it's sending from {ip ranges of vpn}

(Incoming)

Block utorrent unless it receiving to {ip ranges of vpn}

Isn't that blocking your isp? That means that it will not be able to connect since it must go through your isp to connect?

let me clarify. Since I can't edit, I must post a new post. Anyways, isn't that basically blocking applications that try to get through using your IP? If so, when you create a block all rule to apply to all applications, that will effect the pia application. The pia application needs to get through using your ip in order to connect so it would stop it from connecting.

Also, branching off of Kilroy's method, couldn't you block ip ranges to make it more secure? Applications may use the same port but they cannot use the same IP address.

Yes that is blocking your isp..you don't want utorrent to communicate through your isp only through the tunnel created by your vpn which has its own ip. The vpn creates a direct link past your isp and traffic going through it does not see your isp's ip. Therefore if the traffic tries to connect to your isp's ip the vpn is down and it should be blocked...hope that makes sense
