Unsuitable ads in utorrent

I suspect it was probably not a deliberate choice, but please don't show ads like this (link) in utorrent. Perhaps at least review some of the obvious potentially offensive ones (e.g. dating sites), if not deliberately chosen.

I appreciate I can pay for an ad free version and haven't, but this is more about respecting the people using your software - and women generally by not objectifying them. As a man, I also find it insulting. I'm not likely to pay money in any case to remove ads like this, instead I'll probably just stop using the software, and I suspect there are others will feel the same way.

I personally do not want ads like this on my screen at any time, but especially when my kids are in the room.

Thanks for your consideration.

Mark

(P.S. please tell me when the image has been seen by a mod/staff so I can delete it from my Dropbox. Thanks.)

I believe the ads you speak of are random... Every once in a while the ads will change for example I recieved one for Russian women looking companionship.

And I agree that the recent direction that Bittorrent Inc. has taken many will and have been looking for alternatives!

Or use the older version of ut if you still have them....most on here do but will not say so outright..

Thanks for flagging this, I've sent the screencap to our Ads team who are looking into it.

Stuff like this is unacceptable, a feeling shared by everyone here.

UPDATE: The ad network we use has confirmed that this ad has been removed.

Thank you for doing this.

Unfortunately, there was another, similar offensive ad today along the same lines as the one above - this time with an animated GIF (link).

Although I appreciate your efforts to deal with this, I have decided to uninstall the software. Perhaps I will try it again in the future when the ads are better filtered. A "Report ad" button could also be included as a way to quickly deal with this when it happens again.

Thank you.

Absolutely your choice to uninstall, and I understand your decision for doing so. I've reported this to our Ads team, and judging by the quick turnaround last time, it should be removed soon, if not immediately after the weekend.

My apologies for this, and thanks again for reporting.
