DreadWingKnight
It's not uTorrent leaking. uTorrent is limited to 2GB of ram use.

anon14
a few days ago i also started getting 95% memory usage (out of 6GB RAM) while uTorrent is minimized (only happens when PC goes idle like watching movies (nevermind, it happens as long as utorrent is running, idle, gaming etc)), and it drops to ~25% after i close utorrenti dont remember ever having this problem http://i.imgur.com/2PY4IhQ.png (uTorrent is running)http://i.imgur.com/x8MivZN.png (after i closed uTorrent)http://i.imgur.com/liOzoq6.png (Task Manager with all processes while uTorrent is running - yes i know utorrent uses less than 100MB, my point is that there is something hidden that uses a large amount of memory and it only happens while utorrent is running) did multiple searches with Malwarebytes Anti Malware and Bitdefender Internet Security, quick scans, full scans, nothing found uTorrent 3.4.2 (build 38913) [32-bit] on Windows 7 Professional edit: installed an older version of uTorrent (2.2.1 Build 25154) and got rid of the "fishy" hidden large amount of RAM that uTorrent uses
DreadWingKnight
anon, your uTorrent is only using about 100mbytes of RAM TOTALThe problem is the windows disk cache subsystem.
anon14
anon, your uTorrent is only using about 100mbytes of RAM TOTALThe problem is the windows disk cache subsystem.yes, i can read that, and i cant explain what else is using so much memory, but the point is it only happens while uTorrent is running. went to device manager - disk drivers - properties - policies - disabled Enable write caching on the device and rebooted pc.as long as utorrent is running, physical memory usage slowly builds up to 95%+, 5 seconds after i close utorrent, it goes back to 30-60% whatever apps im using. edit: installed an older version of uTorrent (2.2.1 Build 25154) and got rid of the "fishy" hidden large amount of RAM that uTorrent uses
DreadWingKnight
There are probably other parts of windows or other programs on your system causing read cache flooding.
-Virtus-
I'm having memory leak problems as well, although not sure if it's actually a memory leak or just caching on HDD. Sometimes Process Hacker 2 shows uTorrent using a lot of RAM, sometimes it doesn't show (although uTorrent still causing about 20-25% RAM usage). Will try 3 methods and report here: 1. Running as admin. 2. Setting uTorrent.exe priority to below Normal, 3. Setting uTorrent.exe I/O priority to low. Edit: 1. After one night of seeding 14 torrents (about 4GB total) Process Hacker 2 showed uTorrent using only 78MB of RAM, but after exiting uTorrent it showed 30% more RAM available. 2. After another 10 hours of seeding the same number of torrents with "low priority" on uTorrent.exe the amount of ram that was used was about 20%. A bit lower. Although I was actively using my PC during that time.
