To anyone having speed issues

Until the other day, when I download a torrent I would get 1.0 - 2.5 MBs.  But then half-way through downloading it dropped until it completely stopped downloading.  My normal downloading/Web browsing is fine, I just can't torrent.

I did the following:  (These are not guaranteed to work, they are just steps I did)

  • Restarted that torrent
  • Restarted uTorrent
  • Restarted my PC
  • Rebooted my internet through "192.168.0.1"
  • Turned my router Off and On
  • Changed torrent
  • Changed torrent program
  • READ - http://forum.utorrent.com/topic/13691-if-you-have-speed-issues-read-here-first/
  • Set max download speed to "9999999999"
  • Made sure "UPnP Port mapping" was Enabled
  • Changed Port
  • Set torrent bandwidth allocation to "High"
  • Set uTorrent priority to "High" in task manager
  • Ran uTorrent "Setup Guide"
  • Googled Help
  • Youtubed Help
  • Disallowed uTorrent through firewall then re-allowed it

It's now downloading but only at 300KBs but fluxes between 100KBs - 1000KBs

But if none off the above work for you, try: (These are not guaranteed to work, they are just suggestions.)

  • Reinstalling network addapter
  • Disabling AdBlocker - (I read it can interfere, don't know if it's true or not but maybe worth a try.)
  • Uninstall Anti-Virus
  • Set up uTorrent through a proxy
  • Set up a VPN
  • As a last resort contact your Internet provider. (Torrenting itself is legal but many people use it for non-legal purposes,  your internet provider can monitor your internet traffic so if you are download a lot of pirated films/games/music etc they may slow or even stop your torrent download speed.)

NOTE:

If your speeds slowed or stopped and you was able to fix it, please don't keep it to yourself.
