Violetmorte
Hiya! As a great fan and appreciator of P2P torrenting, I like to reciprocate in giving via seeding. And I've read numerous sources saying that the higher you set your upload speed to, the faster your download speed - which is great! But this is simply not the case for me. I increase my upload speed so I can give more back to the torrenting community, but it decreases my download speed significantly. So I'm forced to keep my upload speed at 10kb/s while I download at approx 1.9mb/s, and it makes me feel like a selfish bitch. Am I doing something wrong? Or are the sources incorrect? Thanks boys! DreadWingKnight
There's a sweet spot for each connection that gives optimal speed in both directions. Where that sweet spot is depends on a multitude of factors including, but not limited to what your connection is capable of for upload.
Violetmorte
Right...... well that's way outside my scope of torrenting knowledge. So I think I'll just continue doing what I've been doing for years, where I wait until I finish downloading the file, then set my upload speed to unlimited and seed while I'm doing other stuff. Thanks for your response!
