YouTube enough to slow download speeds?

I've been downloading a large file (30gb) for more than a week now, and last afternoon, I have less then 5gb remaining, with 15 hours until completion.

 

Now my my cousins have been marathoning a youtube series this afternoon, and my download speed is throttled to 3kbps with 14kbps max.

 

I know I said this in the title but is YouTube enough to slow down torrent speeds?

Did you ask them to stop or change the router setup to determine what port have what speed to see what happens? There are some simple things one need to do to see what happens before coming here.
