ThisIsNotMyRealName
Hi All,I have utorrent 3.3 build 30470 running on ubuntu 13.04. This setup has been running great for at least 7-8 months, probably over a year. Recently, about a week ago, torrents started silently failing. I would start a download, it would run for several seconds during which it would connect to peers and start downloading anywhere from a few K to a few MB and then without any sort of error message or anything stop itself and move to inactive. This happens with all torrents (I've tried a dozen different files). Other systems on my network do not have this problem (I can successfully download via the Windows client on the same network/connection). Only this box seems to have this issue. I've also tried both with and without VPN connected (to eliminate connections being killed by my provider). What should I look at next? Thank you. ThisIsNotMyRealName
Seems like no one has any initial thoughts on this topic. A follow up then, how do I go about turning on tracing in utorrent and view any logs that may be produced? Perhaps that will shed more light on the subject. Thank you again. PS I understand the need to combat spam but the one post per day limit for new users will really inhibit my ability to interact with other members when someone suggests trouble shooting steps. I would very much appreciate if any admin seeing this would approve my account. I'm certainly not a spammer, just a guy with a utorrent problem. mcdonald
Look in the documentation files in the docs subdirectory within the uTorrent Server archive. Search for 'logfile' (the command-line option) and 'logmask' (the configuration file setting to enable logging by subsystem).
ThisIsNotMyRealName
I created a utserver.conf file in /opt/utorrent-server-alpha-v3_3 folder with just one line that reads: logmask:4294967295 saved, chmod 777, and restarted the machine. experienced the problem again but I do not see any log file in that same folder. Am I doing something incorrect in the creation of the config file or looking in the wrong spot for the log files? Thanks again.
mcdonald
1) is utserver being invoked either with the configfile argument that provides the path to utserver.conf, or utserver is run from /opt/utorrent-server-alpha-v3_3 so utserver will find utserver.conf in the current working directory? 2) is utserver being invoked with the logfile argument, either including the path to the location where you want the log file to be created/appended to, or excluding path and you looking for utserver.log within the current working directory of the utserver process? ThisIsNotMyRealName
I have a .desktop file I use to start it. That .desktop file contains the command: utserver -settingspath /opt/utorrent-server-alpha-v3_3/ as far as I can see that is correct, am I missing anything? Thanks again.
