nbg
Hi all, Apologies if i'm missing information or if this has been answered, I have searched for a solution and checked the last 10 pages or so.Here is the issue: I have always been able to torrent on my home network fine, we use a netgear dgn3700 router and have never had any major issues. I recently bought a new laptop, an HP Spectre x360 if it matters, running windows 8.1.Anytime I try to torrent from this laptop (using uTorrent version 3.4.3 build 40298) the entire network craps itself, no devices work on the internet. As soon as I close uTorrent (or whatever client, i've tried a few as a test) after about 30 seconds the internet starts to work again. This occurs no matter what torrents I have, it does it even when there are no torrents loaded. It is only from this paticular laptop that I have the problems. I can torrent using an older windows 7 laptop as well as a 2015 macbook air. Have been through the connection setup guides, checked windows firewall settings, tested out lowering connection and bandwidth settings. I'm completely stumped. Please help! Please help!Called ISP throttle.....they detected Torrenting activities so they throttle your internet-a right which they have and will use.
