Okay, everyone keep all this UPnP stuff to one thread.
Post the EXACT messages from the Logger, and if you can access the XML file from your browser, please save it and upload it somewhere, then link here. If you can't do that, then paste it here into a code box. Failing that, e-mail me the XML file, along with the Logger messages. firon@utorrent.com
Big note before reporting anything:
MAKE SURE DMZ IS NOT TURNED ON FOR YOU. MAKE SURE THE PORT IS NOT ALREADY FORWARDED!
And make sure your router actually SUPPORTS UPnP, and that UPnP is turned on. If you ONLY see Unable to map UPnP Port in the Logger, this may be the case.

And um, you don't need to censor the IP. It's a local IP, no one outside your network can access it.

When doing "disable" to the upnp feature - the log displays - "unable to map port" ...
I suppose something might not be correct in the disable operation-sequesce...

I have an EDiMAX-6104P router, i'm not DMZ'ed, nor port forwarded
This is the only message i get from Logger

Also, make sure your router actually SUPPORTS UPnP. ![]()

On some routers (like mine - Alcatel 510) you have to enabled uPnP. Firon, I suggest you note this in your first message.
BTW - can you tell from the log messages if it was enabled or not , inaccessible, or XML parsing problem ?

The router won't advertise the XML file if UPnP is turned off, afaik.
You'll simply see [00:18:16] Unable to map UPnP Port, I believe.
Offline
hmmm... right, it does so here... so why not write it clearly in the text so users will know to enable it (or define the gateway properly) and not just come here and post it as a uT problem ? ...

Hi im new to utorrent, ive only been using it for a couple days, and its great...a huge change from azureus...everything seems to be working properly, except for this one error i keep getting.
It says
Connecting to http://192.168.0.1/devicedesc.xml
didn't find any Xml information!
it does it every 10 minutes.
the thing is...i dont have a router, and i dont use a firewall.
im hooked straight into my dsl modem. Its a Speedstream 5100

Mine says that the port is forwarded but it really isn't as I end up getting a Red light at the bottom, when I usually get a green light when I manually forward my connection.

[02:41:36] UPnP: Mapped port 9155 -> 192.168.62.100:9155The XML encoding for my Router is in UTF-8, but uTorrent seems to have an interpretation problem as it shows boxes in the Log, boxes which disappeared when I copied and pasted to Notepad. They look like this '[][]',but more like a complete box ... hope that helps.
EDIT: Made the Router XML syntax more readable as copy and pasting makes a lot lost in translation. You can download the XML file here as well.
