shimmy
Since recently magnet links (from both Chrome and IE) don't launch in uTorrent as expected. It used to work, and I have no clue what broke it.When I click a magnet link in the browser, nothing happens.I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program and magnet links are still dead. The association settings are properly set in uTorrent:Here's a thread I posted on superuser.com. Beasly
Since you are positive and the magnet entries in the registry is correct.Close Chrome Completely. navigate to the following folder. C:\Users\[your_user_name]\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User DataEdit the “Local State” file and delete the entire magnet: true line and nothing else.Save and close the file and restart chrome.Try clicking a magnet link and set it for your preference. Beasly
Don't know Shimmy. Here's one more.*Before attempting the previous fixes mentioned in previous posts Chrome should not be running while editing. Also make sure magnet protocol is set for uTorrent on your pc "default programs" settings. 1. Click the Chrome menu Chrome menu on the browser toolbar. 2. Select Settings > Show advanced settings. 3. In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings. 4. In the dialog that appears, find the “Handlers” section. 5. Click Manage handlers. 6. Use the drop-down menu next to a listed protocol to select the web service that should be used by default. If for some reason you’d like to use a different handler to open a link on a page, right-click the link and select “Open link with” to choose a handler. Your default handler settings won’t be affected.
