Way to Mask downloads or your IP/Security to prevent ISP from knowing?

Previously I've used Azureas and then BitLord and both had features in it which prevented my ISP from basically knowing exactly what I was download or possibly rather not letting people outside know my true and specific IP address to pinpoint what I was downloading to me, however since I've switched to utorrent I've been swamped with Notice of Copyright Infringement emails from my ISP!

Now I love uTorrent due to it's small form factor and it actually is running consistantly faster than the other ones have in the past but I'll give up my speed and my small program footprint to not go to jail, cause honestly, who doesn't use it to download an occational movie :)?

So is there a way to mask your IP address to other peers or something to that effect so I can get around this problem that I'm currently having and continue to love up on this software?

It's not your ISP that's detecting your ip...it's OTHER peers/seeds on the same torrent.

Those monitoring peers/seeds are sending a DMCA letter to your ISP, which is passing the letter on to you.

And you are forced by the way BitTorrent protocol works to give out your ip address to the tracker -- which gives it to other peers/seeds.

EVEN if you somehow manage to block *EVERY* monitoring peer/seed, the tracker still gives out your ip to them...so they can report you to your ISP even if they cannot connect to you. (There is evidence that they've done this to people.)

The simple solution is to quit using BitTorrent technology and never use it again...to download copyright material without permission.

IP addresses are like phone numbers; It's not possible to call someone if you don't know their phone number. It's also impossible for people on a P2P network to send you anything if they don't know your IP address.

Unless you're going through proxies, there's no way to hide your IP address from the people you're asking to send you files.

As for why this didn't happen with the other clients; Is it possible that they included an IP blocklist by default and you weren't even aware of it? Such a blocklist might have prevented organizations, like the one in your example, from connecting to you.

or it could also be that I just hit all at the same time a large block of torrents all being monitored? (I think I received four letters like the one posted above and they did have line breaks but when i wrapped them in the code function so it wouldn't be four pages long it took them out for some reason =| )

I think prior to this the only time outta the last two years that I had received an email like this is when I downloaded Resident Evil 4 for Wii (which sucks hard btw... worse controls ever) and then I flipped out to a new client that was suggested to me (utorrent of course) on sunday and since then received 4 emails in 4 days I figured that was just a bit peculiar.

Any way thanks a bunch, and they're not illegal to download if you own the rights right :D -insert snickering here-
