utorrent Cant upload

Ok I posted a thread like this a while back because i thought i was being throttled. I layed off torrents for a while and i just started downloading/uploading again. Well i decided to try a new client and see if that was my problem.

It was.

I can download and upload fine with azureus. So my question is, why??? On utorrent i can download but i cant upload. Is there a way I can fix this, is it my settings or what. I even uninstalled and reinstalled. Please help i miss utorrent.

Only the latest uTorrent (v1.8 release candidate 1 at the moment) is likely to partially work around ComCast's BitTorrent disruption methods...and even then ONLY when using extreme settings.
I know, I've got ComCast.

Azureus also supports the same methods as uTorrent, and may be using the settings you need by default.

From what I've seen, you should be able to download and upload somewhat ok while a torrent is downloading. It's only when you're trying to seed something that ComCast goes to extreme lengths to sabotage uploading...at least here.

Are you running software that is known to be hostile to uTorrent?
Many software firewalls are...as are some antivirus/antispyware programs -- which even have identified uTorrent as a virus/trojan "false-positive"!
And of course Roxio really loves to make us miserable.

Nope I'm only using windows (vista) firewall. No Roxio stuff either cause it's all very disruptive. I can seed with azureus after downloading at around 200 kb/s so comcast isn't messing with me (yet) Thats why i cant figure out whats wrong with utorrent. Azureus is nice but most of the private trackers i use wont allow it, so i really need utorrent back so i can be active again.

So...what settings are you using in Azureus?
If uTorrent doesn't work, then apparently the settings in Azureus are somehow set differently than what you tried in uTorrent.

Post a hijackthis log and process explorer process list with DLL list for the utorrent.exe process.
I'm still not convinced there's no program interfering with uTorrent.

I have this same problem even after going through your guide.  Im assuming it has to deal with my internet service provided so I forced my protocol incription, still with no luck.

im not using a router, firewall, or an antivirus program and its a clean install of XP SP2

Indrasome,

Are you getting the green light in uTorrent?
Have you tried disabling DHT, LPD, UPnP, Resolve IPs?
Also, make sure outgoing connections are FORCED encryption instead of just ENABLED.
And if you have a router, try adding both your computer's LAN ip and internet ip to uTorrent's ipfilter.dat file. <- this is just something new that I recently thought up to try.

Some ISPs allow a little regular (unencrypted) BitTorrent traffic, like maybe 3-5 KiloBYTES/second, so totally blocking unencrypted connections may not be the answer to getting as much speed as possible. This is especially true if the ISP also severely throttles unknown (encrypted) traffic. This is why you really have to test multiple contradictory settings.

The reasoning behind this is before I did this, I was seeing both my LAN and internet ip scroll by repeatedly in logger window...and not using encryption. Actually, come to think of it, I was seeing my ROUTER'S ip address too!

Thanks...I don't expect blocking LAN ip ranges and internet ip will affect much, but it's just something else to try. (...however insane others say it is.)
