Entire comp crashes after utorrent use

This problem has been going on for a while now and it is not just confined to utorrent. I switched to this from Azureus, and before that, Bittorrent. What happens is that after a random period of time after opening the application, my comp crashes and I have to reboot. I don't have to be down/uploading either, I could just turn it on and have nothing active and it will still crash eventually. I have tried running it on a single core but that has had no effect.

No answers?

Considering how little you've actually given us (including forgetting to provide the technical info from the bluescreen or whatever that causes you to need to reboot, as well as forgetting the required information from our how to report bugs sticky) we have nothing to go on.

Sorry about that, read the faq and crash threads but ignored the content rules thread as it didnt appear relevent at the time. As for Bluescreens, I don't get any, it just locks up and I have to reset. There's no technical info I can give you on that.

Hard lock sounds like your PC is overheating, or some other piece of hardware is faulty (maybe RAM). That's the only time I've ever seen that happen.

That's what I initially thought but other apps as well as highly demanding games run fine. I have never had a single crash whilst playing crysis on high. I downloaded HWmonitor to check the temps and they were fine. CPU is at about 30 idle, GPU 60, system is a little higher than I'd like at 45 but for a problem based on that to present itself only in torrent applications and not other apps such as photoshop or games?

That, and I get much worse temps on my old comp with worse specs and that has yet to crash with a torrent running.

I did notice that the problem went away for about a week following the installation of a new HDD. But after that it was just as normal.

Prime95 in torture test mode and Memtest86+ are worth a shot.

Is there any risk of damage to my PC?
