Unable to connect to peers
Hello!
I have a problem with uTorrent not allowing me to upload or connect to peers once a download has finished.
Here's a screenshot:
http://img686.imageshack.us/img686/977/35039641.jpg
I am currently using uTorrent 3.0 Alpha (I also noticed the problem with the stable version). I am also using Windows 7, Avira Antivirus and ZoneAlarm Firewall (the Windows firewall is disabled).
I know that my uTorrent port is opened (did the test with uTorrent and on some random internet sites) and that the connection icon is green.
I also have an exception for uTorrent in ZoneAlarm Firewall so I really don't understand what's happening.
I am hoping that someone here can come up with a solution to this very frustrating problem.
Thanks!

Re: Unable to connect to peers
Those just look like chronically overseeded torrents that you won't be able to get to upload on.
But ZoneAlarm is very much a problem child that needs to be uninstalled, at least temporarily for troubleshooting.

Re: Unable to connect to peers
Nothing changes even when I close Zone Alarm.
And I noticed that the only peers I get to connect to for a few seconds have old torrent clients like Azureus, libTorrent, uTorrent 1.7.7, etc.

Re: Unable to connect to peers
I'm seeding only 4 torrents (no download) and after 3 hours I've noticed this:

Only the "old" torrent clients are able to connect to me.
As for the forced start, I thought it will change something concerning my upload speed.

Re: Unable to connect to peers
Your connection icon may be green, but that torrent has absolutely no incoming connections on it. Double-check your router's forwarding rules.
Force starting only serves to cause problems in your situation.

Re: Unable to connect to peers
I'm only seeding the torrent, son it can't have any incoming connection. Right?

Re: Unable to connect to peers
Wrong. Incoming and outgoing connections happen independent of the torrent's seeding status.
And if you're only getting outgoing connections (which, right now, you are) then your performance overall WILL suffer.

Re: Unable to connect to peers
Then what is that I need to do in order to solve this issue?

Re: Unable to connect to peers
Figure out what is preventing incoming connections from getting through properly and fixing it.
Software firewalls, Antivirus (sometimes), router, internet provider can all cause it.

Re: Unable to connect to peers
I've read all the forums in order to try to find an explanation to my problem, that's why I'm asking for help.
So I was wondering if there is any "known" solution for my problem because I've already tried to:
- Uninstall my firewall and disable the Windows one
- Turn off my antivirus
- Check if the port I'm using with uTorrent is open
- Check my IPS transparency here: http://broadband.mpi-sws.org/transparency/bttest.php
And even with all those changes, the issue I'm talking about is still here. ![]()

Re: Unable to connect to peers
So even the test torrents mentioned in 1st link of my signature don't work at all?

Re: Unable to connect to peers
I works but the only peers that I can connect to are using Vuze (Azureus), old uTorrent versions (1.7.7, 1.8.5) or other clients.
I wasn't able to connect to any 2.0.4 and most of the people out there are using it.
That's why I was thinking that's something wrong with my uTorrent settings but even after a clean install (I've deleted all the saved settings), I still have the same problem.

Re: Unable to connect to peers
Disable uTP (bandwidth management), since it's probably not working and try again.

Re: Unable to connect to peers
It's already disabled, as well as the NAT-PMP Mapping.

Test another computer or another internet connection with your settings?
