Re: WebUI v0.315

Strange. The WebUI options (in preferences) is only visible if you press ctrl-p. Using the menu for opening the preferenses hides the webui-settings.

BTW, Great work!!

Re: WebUI v0.315

That's why the readme specifically says Ctrl+P -- it's known.

@RawIsWar: http://localhost:PORT/gui/ <-- replace PORT with your listening port on µTorrent... doesn't work?

Re: WebUI v0.315

This is covered in the readme. The options has always been there (including the official 1.6 release), but was hidden cause the webui was closed beta.

RawIsWar: can u come to the IRC channel.  If not then we cant help if you dont tell us what u are seeing in your browser window, what url u are using to access webui, what settings u have in utorrent (not your user/pass obviously).

Yes, between () - which usually means "or" in situations like this one.

"it's know" is quite a bad (and amusing) reason.

As a note: Just using the ctrl-button seems to be enough, even if you are using the meny to access the preferences.

Also, just wanted to let you know I have the webUI running inside Netvibes using a web page module. Great Job!

Re: WebUI v0.315

@uTorUser: lol yes that's known as well, as that was the simple method ludde chose to hide the WebUI from casual users, since the WebUI files still weren't public, and people were complaining about it "not working." It's actually been like that since before 1.6 was released, and behaves the same way on 1.6 stable. The reason we say Ctrl+P is because it's simpler to just press Ctrl+P rather than holding Ctrl and selecting the menu item tongue

Re: WebUI v0.315

Hi,

Works great over SSL with STunnel on Firefox 1.5.0.7.  No connection problems at all.  However, in IE7 Beta 3 (latest patched version), it's not working.

I've tried the trick in the readme file (https://127.0.0.1/gui/?action=setsettin … ookie&v={}) and then reloading, but the page gets stuck at "Loading..."., and then it throws a timeout error.  I'm also getting the usual "There is a problem with this website's security certificate." since I'm just using localhost.  IE7 gives the option of continuing, but again, the timeout error eventually pops up.

Is there an IE7 security configuration I should know about?

EDIT:  I tried adding https://127.0.0.1 to "Intranet" and then to "Trusted site" ... no change.

Re: WebUI v0.315

IE7's probably just bugged. It is IE after all.

Re: WebUI v0.315

I think the Bug is from IE...just guessing, coudl be wrong.  Here's a sample of the HTTP headers from Firefox compared with that of IE7 RC1 (I just upgraded to no avail).  Note the the value for the keep-alive is missing in the IE7 header.  I'm also getting WSAECONNRESET errors in the STunnel log resulting in a timeout error.

Firefox:
GET /gui/ HTTP/1.1
Host: 127.0.0.1
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7
Accept: text/xml,application/xml,application/xhtml+xml,text/html;q=0.9,text/plain;q=0.8,image/png,*/*;q=0.5
Accept-Language: en-us,en;q=0.5
Accept-Encoding: gzip,deflate
Accept-Charset: ISO-8859-1,utf-8;q=0.7,*;q=0.7
Keep-Alive: 300
Connection: keep-alive

IE7:
GET /gui/ HTTP/1.1
Accept: image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, application/x-shockwave-flash, */*
UA-CPU: x86
Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 5.1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)
Host: 127.0.0.1
Connection: Keep-Alive
Accept-Language: en-us

I'm going to stick with Firefox...hope that info helps someon...my header analyzer skills aren't what they used to be.  Good luck smile

EDIT:  Something does work:
https://127.0.0.1/gui/?list=1
https://127.0.0.1/gui/?action=getsettings

Both return valid data in IE7.  However, https://127.0.0.1/gui/ is still stuck at "Loading..." ...

Re: WebUI v0.315

I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing wrong here, but I can't get the webui to show up in my preferences.  I updated to build 475, copied webui.zip into the settings folder, and used ctrl+p to get into the preferences, but there's no webui options anywhere.  Did I miss a step?
