The IP of sources sending poisoned pieces are often easily recognisable. While utorrent will ban these after 5 hashfails they seem to keep coming back to life. It would save a great deal of bandwidth if they could be fingered manually on the peers page so that no further requests were sent to that domain.

Hi, i would like some system tray notification for things like stop all downloads. I have to stop them to free my connection but i often forget to restart them. Something like red icon to remind me of the fact uTorrent doesn't work.
Offline
P45, that is a frequently rejected request because people WILL use it stupidly.
claudiapatx, previously requested and rejected because of the bad effects it has on piece distribution.
lumo, no. It's bad enough people think that hammering the tracker with needless requests actually helps them. We won't encourage it.

Another wish by me is to have in properties of a torrent to what folder it is downloading. I use different folders for each torrent and I always have to search my computer to find to where I put a certain file/folder.
Offline
servimo: it's called the general tab.
Offline
The General Tab in torrent properties don't show to where the torrent is going, even the Advanced Tab.

Guess you missed that.

Ok, now I understand the tabs are tabs below, above the status bar. Thanks, I will look for this information in there now.

I haven't seen this because I haven't read all of the post for it but removing the dht would be nice. I mean I never had a problem like this before. I can still download and upload fine but not connecting to any dht just plane wrong. I followed the port forward rules updated my westell versalink 327 and as of last week never had a problem but this week man its been really bad. I went back to an older version of utorrent and itworks wonderfully with out the dht problem.

Removing DHT support isn't something that's going to happen.
Figure out what went wrong (blame your software firewall before anything, then follow this thread).

Some hot key to hide/unhide utorrent icon from system tray. This will be helpfull those who download from some restricted place.

Yeah, uh, it's called the bosskey function.

I promise I had this idea as an original thought in my head but:
Requests:
Give more info about what the flags mean when somebody hovers their mouse over it for a few seconds. (Somebody else thought of it first and it has merit: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=797)
It wouldn't change the interface for the vast majority of users out there and would provide insight to what the heck is going on internally without having to pull up the FAQ several times....
If the flags are "dS IE" then on mouse over it would display:
d = Your client wants to download, but peer doesn't want to send
S = Peer is snubbed
I = Peer is an incoming connection
E = Peer is using Protocol Encryption (all traffic)
Sounds simple to code, and if it takes 3-5 seconds for it to popup from a mouse over, then it would be non-intrusive. Not changing the existing interface or functionality, while providing a little further info sounds like a win-win. For those who don't want it ever showing up, give it a checkbox in preferences....
Thanks a ton and μTorrent rocks hardcore!

according to wiki the new foxtorrent is the only torrent program to download files in order! My feature request is to be able to prioritize a file (first third high, second third normal, last third low) so i can watch files as they download! if utorrent did this i could convert my friends to using utorrent easy as the main use is for epz.
also, i notice you have launch specified app after file completed but no default setting for just.. launching the file once downloaded.

Sequential downloading isn't good for torrent speeds.
It's also not good for swarm health.
Sequential downloading is a previously rejected request.
Offline
i thought my idea was different in that using high, nomal, low priority. it's not just downloading a file in order, i know that doesn't work and kills the speed. surely there is some compromise between "squential download" and keeping the swarm design.
Offline
That'd be what the file priorities are for. µTorrent won't grant more granular control over priorities (certainly not number order), and it won't do it automatically for the user either.
Offline
learn to use what you already have, I guess...

I am on a tracker with strict ratio requirements, thus I have a few dozen seeds going at once, but there is no way to tell how much I have uploaded during the current session nor even the date/time of the last time someone opened my seed and downloaded anything from me.
Of course there is the "Uploaded" column, but that is just for the entire length of the torrent and doesn't tell me if anyone grabbed anything recently.
In Azureus, I used a "idle-length" column to sort which simply showed how long the torrents have been inactive (infinity if there was nothing was grabbed during the current session.)
I would love to have this column available (and/or ideally one that says how much I've recently uploaded.) That way I can tell whom has recently been grabbing my seeds.
Thanks much, other than that I love this application!

its something about speeding up torrents by ignoring file names and using the files themselves to find matches therefore widening sources, and therefore, speeding up the whole process.
this will put any utorrent client above all others if it has this new method. [Similarity-Enhanced Transfer (SET)]
