Hyosung
Strange.. WIth this new beta, the skin I used for 1.8.2 now doesn't work, as I get the error,"[22:33:38] Cannot load skin file: "tstatus.bmp" incorrect number of images, 16 instead of 19 (or 38)"
Firon
Well, 1.8.3 is built off 1.9, but I don't recall adding new status icons...
Richard Choi
1.8.3 and up brought back old RSS status icons (new within 24 hrs, previously downloaded) into the main window. There is also a different RSS icon for feeds that are not functional.

SubJunk07
I'm having the same problem reported above, the icons have all reverted back to default ones. I just tried downloading a different tstatus.bmp and replacing the old one and restarting the program, but still the icons are default.
rafi
as Richard mentioned - there are new icons here, so the old icon files - are not compatible to this version. Though, I would have tried to find a way to make uT just use whatever icons he can from the old release, and set just the new ones, that are missing) to default in sake of backward compatibility, and also in 1.
DragonsDream
just updated today. I currently have 123 torrents running - 117 seeding and 6 downloading, but after upgrading, 23 of the seeding torrents suddenly became "queued seed." Seems the program only allows 100 torrents regardless of what is set in the options (mine is set to 150). I have to force start them to get them to seed again. avatarl
Is anyone seeing a ridiculously high memory usage? I'm using Windows 7 Beta 7000, sure it's a beta OS, but 1.8.2 was working properly, but with 1.8.3, I can insane memory usage reported in Task Manager, from 500,000+ K to even 1gb+ . DragonsDream
yeah, just noticed the huge memory usage... over 500,000 in XP, puts it over Firefox on the list! switching back to 1.8.
SoLoR
I also saw uplading speed was jumping up and down a lot in this version (maybe this is connected with huge memory usage, didnt payed enough attention if i have this problem as well). Anyway, for 2-3 min im uploading with max speed (2.2MB/s), then it drops to 0 for ~5min, then it picks up again and drops back. This is on Win7 x64 7048, however 1.8.2 version is working fine. Richard Choi
We are looking into a solution to get old skins working with a mixture of defaults for new images. Did this problem also occur in the 1.7x-1.8 update for people using skins? New images were added in that update as well. For people getting high memory usage, can you provide us with simple steps to duplicate it?
TheShadowRunner
[2009-03-05 00:05:56] Cannot load skin file: "tstatus.bmp" incorrect number of images, 16 instead of 19 (or 38)All status icons on http://www.utorrent.com/skins.php have 16 images..Worked just fine on 1.8.
digitalcongo
do the UTP settings hold from 1.9i noticed the default was set at 13 in this (1.8.3) version...???How to enable and disable it:Preferences > Advanced, change bt.transp_disposition. This is now a bitfield, so you can add up the following numbers to get your desired setting.1 - incoming TCP2 - incoming uTP4 - outgoing TCP8 - outgoing uTPSpecific combinations:255 - both TCP and uTP, incoming + outgoing (future-proof setting, always will mean this)15 - both TCP and uTP, incoming + outgoing (default)
moogly
About icons, I used 1.9 with a 1.8.1-skin and I got this message but uT didn't reverted back to default ones.
Firon
digitalcongo: yes, bt.trans_disposition acts like 1.9 now. The default is 0 in 1.8.3, though.moogly, we're going to make skinfiles warn, but load the defaults for missing icons.
gLes
Hi!Is it normal that the beta is hogging like n times 15 MB memory every once in a while? As I remember, uTorrent used less than 10 MB of RAM when minimized to tray, now it uses approx. 15-30-45-60 even when its doing mostly nothing (only a few torrents seeding). It also seems to be oscillating. I tried modifying the size of the cache, but it doesn't seem to be related and it should not be allocated anyway because reading cache is disabled and there are no torrents downloading.Best regards,gLes

SoLoR
ok found a way to replicate my problem every time (wierd upload/download? speeds). Im allowing large number of connections/torrent (200) i have 20/20 line so i can afford.I let torrent to start uploading at full speed and basickly instantly when i switch to peers tab and ips started to get resolved, upload just drops, i assume same thing would happen with download, but didnt try it.
