Opening ports

I have been using uTorrent for about a year and all was good.  However, I recently changed ISP's and it no longer works for me.  I used to have mobile broadband which just plugged into my USB port but now I have a connection running from my laptop directly to the wall, no router. As I have no router I am finding the port forwarding tutorials very difficult. I've opened the port on the firewall but it still won't work. Anybody any ideas on what I can do??

Re: Opening ports

If you can't access to the router to forward a port, you will probably stay in a "firewalled" state with the yellow triangle in uT. That's the case with some global residential ADSL connections, or Wimax, 3G etc...

Re: Opening ports

Does this mean I will not be able to use uTorrent or is there a way around it??
