Good point! I don't have a firm answer so I won't make a specific version commitment now. But it is on our roadmap and we do want to make progress on it.

the biggest issue for me is that ut3.0 doesn't work properly with BitComet's seeds.

If the seed contains many files, and I just want to download a few of them, then the download will always faill, telling me "Error, The data is invaild".

for example:

http://bt.ktxp.com/down/1306806612/a9cf467d88062d89edf75700df96c44cdd4c7ccf.torrent

problem will come if I just download the main file.

Hi,

When this happens for you, do you see the following message in the logger tab?

Warning: Delete to trash failed for _____. Error: _____. Deleting permanently.

No, there are no such messages in the logger, this bug was introduced in the RC1 if this is useful to you.

This issue is fixed, with changelog:

Fix: Files would be permanently deleted when "Delete to trash" option was selected

Expect it soon.

Hi,

I checked with our WebUI experts, and they have this to say:

I just tested the current functionality by deleting a file within a

seeding torrent. When I click "start" on that torrent, it issued

action=recheck, which forces a check. You can't manually force a

re-check, but if a torrent is in an error state, it will do the check

when you click on the "play/start" button.

Thanks for all the feedback for 3.0. Since there were so many comments, I am going to do a summary post to let you know the current status:

Confirmed fixed:

WILL attempt a FIX for 3.0 stable:

  • "Install IPv6" button in preferences is enabled, even though IPv6 is installed Reason: Sometimes IPv6 gets screwed up, and it is handy to reload it.

When I try to download a torrent using a magnet URL from certain trackers, I consistently get an error about the directory begin invalid:

The actual magnet URL was:

magnet:?xt=urn:btih:50381241BEBCD5E3FE59B833A7FCAB7CBC4DD0B2&tr=http://www.mvgroup.org:2710/announce

This has occurred with magnet URLs from several websites (the above is from eztv) which used to work fine with the previous (pre-3.0) stable release of utorrent. If I download the same torrent using a non-magnet URL, it also works fine.

No. Here is my configuration for "Directories":

NEW DOWNLOADS: F:\Download\Incomplete

COMPLETED: F:\Download\Complete

I selected only one file in the torrent. After viewing the sample I selected the full version and gave it a priority of high and got the error mentioned above. I get it even when doing a "Force Re-Check".[/quote']

Well there's your problem!

That explains why I was having so much trouble reproducing this issue. I'll look in to the file selection/deselection bug as the probable cause.

Download and Upload speed is not updating, not in the torrent column, not in the status bar not in peers tab. It looks like it can freeze at arbitrary point of time. Sometimes it freezes for a few seconds, unfreezes and freezes again. Sometimes for minutes.

This doesn't affect downloading speed.

I'm using Windows XP 32 bit.

hi Adam, I still got a minor issue about the health bar. In the latest changelog it has been fixed to green, but mine is still orange. Can you look into that? Thank you.

I have a little problem! Yesterday it updated up to v.3.0.25327 and everything was fine, until I restart the PC. After the restart utorrent didn't stat, but appear installation window for the same version. It's ok, but when I press install button nothing didn't happened and the window still stay opened and now I can't start utorrent. I try to close installation window and to start the program manually, but that window appear again. Then I try to uninstall the application and install it again. The same. Until restart everything is ok, but after that...

Any suggestion?!

i would like to mention a few bugs i have noticed --> posted here -> but still have not been resolved.

(1)Speed graph for "Transfer History " enables and disables on its own without providing any input.

(2) - IPv6 button bugI am facing this bug even in the latest 25327 build.

theres a bug with the install ipv6 button..the button is enabled even if ipv6 is installed.

(3)the minify interface bug

Clipping of the torrent name text in minify view

When display text size setting is set to "Medium - 125 %" (120 ppi) in Windows 7 32 bit the new torrent view clips the Name of torrent

This is not a bug. It's intentionally left enabled so you can force-enabled Teredo if it breaks (which it does sometimes).

Our whole GUI has many low DPI issues. We're well aware of them and are not planning on fixing them for 3.0. But we will address them in the future.

We've already said we're looking into the colors and will make a decision on what should change.

Don't overwrite utorrent.exe in program files. Just run it from where you downloaded it.

Not fixing in 3.0:

  • Columns change on upgrade (BTW, we'd like more information on this - which behaviours will trigger the problem: Adding columns not int he standard set, re-arranging columns, etc). We will fix this for 3.1

Not sure if the set, re-arranging, or resizing is the cause but I do both of those when setting my columns up. My column order is as follows: Name, Size, Done, Down Speed, Up Speed, Status, ETA, Downloaded, Uploaded, Ratio, Seeds, Peers, Avail., #, Added, Completed, Tracker. The list is sorted by # to provide meaning to the order and have move up/down queue work visually (is this the default? if not, would it make sense as the default?). To my knowledge/in my experience the trigger for reset on upgrade is when the new version has added columns that did not exist previously in the version one is upgrading from.

A few questions that remain unanswered in your post: Will the potential CPU fix also fix the sluggish torrent list horizontal scrolling? Will there be an updated 2.0.4 skin? Also, I don't see mention of the ongoing tray icon issues or any plans for completing the comment disabling feature. Thanks again for all the hard work! :)

Hmm. Look for a file called "default_skin", and delete it. Also, which build #?

It's a bit confusing why this setting would stick. Let me know if you still have the problem after the RC today.

I upgraded to the latest µTorrent 3.0 from 2.2 and the toolbar has gone missing. I press F4 and it just hides the blank toolbar area. I tried downloading toolbar.bmp and putting it in both %appdata%\utorrent and c:\program files\utorrent but the toolbar still does not appear.

Can you post a screenshot of this problem?
