Problem with download locations with uTorrent 3.2 Beta [build 27026]

Good Afternoon, lately I think in the 2/3 latest beta versions when I download something directly to my external HDD it happens this

http://puu.sh/qU2Z

for example I set download location to: F:\Videos\Anime\Mirai Nikki\[GotSpeed]_Mirai_Nikki_-_24_[DC824EAA].mkv

and uTorrent saved to: F:\Videos\Anime\Mirai Nikki\[GotSpeed]_Mirai_Nikki_-_24_[DC824EAA].mkv\[GotSpeed]_Mirai_Nikki_-_24_[DC824EAA].mkv

It's quite annoying because I have to re order everything I download there.

Some Notes:I tried to save to desktop and it happens the same problem

http://puu.sh/qU6n

I tried to search for virus but I didn't find anything. Also this problem only happens when I add a torrent in uTorrent if I remove the data that had been downloaded previously then recheck the torrent in uTorrent and download again it saves where it should save.

EDIT:

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit SP1

Maybe it's a dumb question but shouldn't you set the download location to F:\Videos\Anime\Mirai Nikki\ instead of F:\Videos\Anime\Mirai Nikki\[GotSpeed]_Mirai_Nikki_-_24_[DC824EAA].mkv because the download location should be the path to a folder where it will download the files (mkv in this situation).

Download location is set to: F:\Videos\Anime\Mirai Nikki\

that's the problem

Ok then, sorry. I was confussed by your first post on this topic:

for example I set download location to: F:\Videos\Anime\Mirai Nikki\[GotSpeed]_Mirai_Nikki_-_24_[DC824EAA].mkv

but the last part is the actual file.

ok.  it happens only for this file ? maybe it's a problem with [ and ] being the first and last chars in the file name or with this particular .torrent file.

This a known problem introduced into the Beta when the Name field was added. It was not tested with both single file and multi-file torrents - one requires a directory the other not. What I do to workaround is just use the name field on add - I ignore the "Save in" field, then use the "Set Download Location" to move it to where I want. Then start the torrent. It's a pain - But at lease I do not have an extra directory level created.

Honestly, I can't repro this issue with single files in the latest 3.2. I can only repro different problems with magnet links.

How are you adding the single-file torrents? Are you setting a path?
I need exact reproduction steps.

Re: Problem with download locations with uTorrent 3.2 Beta [build 27026]

Firon: Select a path a file location via Save In. Change the name a little so it is different from the name field. Save it. Start the torrent. You will see the value of the Name field will become the File Name and the Save in location will become the directory in which it is stored.

The Saved In should be a Folder selection not a Save as Filename.

Could you test this out in the new 3.2 I just released?

Firon: Same problem. Still using the save file rather than selecting a Folder. I have NOT tried it with a multi-file torrent yet.

Re: Problem with download locations with uTorrent 3.2 Beta [build 27026]

Firon: Although Multi-file torrents "Save In" uses the Select Folder and the Name Filed is used to create the New Folder. Note: If the Name Field has the same value as the folder selected - a new sub-folder is created: so it would look like aFolder\test\test - with the folder selected called test and the name is test.

Whereas in the case of the single file torrent the name field becomes the name of the torrent. That is NOT the case on a multi-file torrent. It is the name specified in the torrent. (I would like it to be the value of the Name field - in ALL cases.)

So in my opinion: uTorrent should use the select folder on the "Save In" when adding a new torrent. The Name field should always become the name of the Torrent and the file name on a single file torrent, and the Name field should NOT be appended to the Saved In field when the folder selected is the same value as the Name field.

There I think thats right.

Sorry for the late response, I am adding trough adding torrent trough URL
then for example I paste this link: http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=download&tid=299472 (which is the dl link)
when it loads I chose the folder and it starts download while downloading if I do open contaning folder it created the unwanted folder already when it finishes it still there.

I've tried the new one 27027 and still the same problem.

Re: Problem with download locations with uTorrent 3.2 Beta [build 27026]

Good time of the day 2 you all!
Now I'm using the latest available 3.2.2 beta (build #28198) w/ the same uneasy  If I prefer to store all the files in save to path, without name sub-folder, I have to set it's name to dot (.) and later rename it in main window. Would it be better to add a check-box, under the name field, that'd control the creation of name-sub-folder? It can read something like `whether to create sub-folder %name% under the %save in% path'. Then we'd have a freedom to choose whether to save the files in sub-folder %name% as well as the interface'd be more obvious and logical. Also IMHO. WBR
