set download location
After completion of the download the torrent starts seeding. When I close and open u torrent again an error appears: (cannot find the file) and the torrent is not seeding.
This has been discussed earlier as I searched the forum but until now I have not found a solution.
As I do not want to be a leecher I want the torrent seed again. I try the following:
-1Go to advanced-set download location and path to the folder where the file is.
However uTorrent finds an empty file.???
-2 In uTorrent I delete the torrent with the error and open the loaded torrent again. The Torrent appears in the interface. (Torrent is not active) The upload stats are gone regretfully.
Subsequently I go to Advanced-set download location and path to the folder where the file and torrent are.
But again u torrent finds an empty file.
It means I cannot make the torrent seed again!!
Going straight to the folder (outside of uTorrent) I can see the file and the torrent.
I have tried to google this issue and search this forum however I have no solution.I understood that there was a similar issue in 2011.
I use uTorrent 3.2 B vs 27272 (latest)
OS win 7 32 bits
Show hidden files and folders is ON
Directory settings are:
Put new Downloads in C:\users\users\downloads (Works)
Move complete downloads to C:\users\user\documents\utorrent\completed (Works)
Move torrents for finished jobs to C:\users\user\documents\utorrent\torrents (Works)
Ticked the box Aut load torrents from
C:\users\user\documents\utorrent\torrents.
I tried also
C:\users\user\documents\utorrent\completed
Makes no difference.
How come utorrent cannot find the files going via set download location??
What Can I do to make them visible for uTorrent in order to seed again?
Preferably without loosing the stats
I assure you I tried to find the answer but using the forum is my last resort
Maybe its a simple setting but pls advice me on this
Thanks in advance

Re: set download location
I've tried it and it works fine for me. No need to do anything. In your example - I suggest to NOT set auto-load torrents at all. uTorrent keeps track of all moved torrents.

Re: set download location
The Reason that I set them in the first place was because uTorrent couldn't find the .torrent files. Why does no one answer these questions?
uTorrent is not behaving in the way that it is supposed to, so why isn't someone from the actual company or an administrator or whatever help us out with this problem? I want to use uTorrent but I can't if it's not working right!
