  3. thanks. when I moved the downloads to a different folder, the bar went red, so I removed the torrent listed. some of the downloaded files are still "intact" in their whole folder (but the folders been moved to a different location), some of the downloaded files have been moved into a different combined directory with their original directory deleted. most of the currently intact downloaded torrents include a folder with a couple of files inside them (the actual data, plus a couple of extra txt files etc). Usually I delete the txt files, and move the actual file into a combined directory what's the situ on this.....the torrents I have currently downloaded that are all intact in their directories....I'll be able to just add these again, and they'll be included in one of the "200 seeders" result? the files I have that I've moved into combined directories....I guess I'd have to create a new torrent for each one of these, and they'd list as "1 seed available", because they would basically be new torrents,,? to add, most of the files I've downloaded, even tho I've mostly removed the extra txt files included in the torrent, the media file is still identical to the one downloaded. can I make a torrent of this "1" media file, and have it appear on the same listing as a torrent that includes "1 media, + a couple of txt" files? I'd guess...not
  4. This is the wrong way to do it. If the torrent is still loaded in uTorrent, you can use the "Set Download Location" option in the right-click menu when right-clicking on the torrent you moved in order to point uTorrent at the new location.
  5. so my downloads start seeding, which is fine I often move my downloaded files into other directories (such as moving 1 file from a folder, into another folder containing lots of files) when I move the downloads, utorrent 'loses' the file from it's seed list? the only way I'm aware of adding it back as a seed, is to create an entire new torrent from the folder it's been moved to, which so far is on about 10% of the directory, after 5 minutes, it'll take at least an hour to create a torrent for the whole directory is there any way for utorrent to keep "track" of the downloaded file, after I move the file? or however I should be doing it edit - after 20 minutes of creating a torrent file from about 250GB, "utorrent ran out of memory", and crashed. (it was taking up 1.6GB of memory, I have 8GB installed, but, must have got in a tizz)

  7. No worries. Have a good day.
  8. @mike20021969 first of all, I'm sorry for the delay. Yesterday I read your message but I wasn't allowed to answer (I didn't know there's a daily limit to send messages). Thank you very much, that's a good advice and makes a lot of sense. I'll leave everything as it is and maybe at some point it will start downloading again. Thanks again for all your help!
  9. Bear with it. A while back I had to wait months for one torrent to complete. Someone else with the torrent might only be seeding during their daylight hours. So if you're not already doing so, try leaving your PC on during night time. I've had a few complete only when doing that (nothing during my daytime, but springs into life at night).
  10. @mike20021969 I guess that's bad news for me. Thank you very much for your help!
  11. Yes, Availability should be 1.000 or greater.
  12. @mike20021969 thank you very much for your reply, it clarifies a lot my doubts. But after I published my question I noticed that in the information tab, there's only 0.667 available. I read somewhere in this forum that it should say at least 1, is that correct?
  13. That's correct. They have to complete contents.
  14. Hello community! I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm relatively new to using utorrent and don't know what to do. Two weeks ago I started downloading an old torrent and the first few days it downloaded very well, but 5-6 days ago the download stopped (it says downloading, but nothing happens, the download speed doesn't appear nor increases its percentage). What I wanted to know is: in the "Peers" tab there is the IP of those who are providing the download and a percentage, among other data. If that percentage is 100%, does that mean that the person downloaded all the material and is serving it or does it mean that I can download the 100% of what that person downloaded (even if he/she downloaded only 50%)? I'm a bit confused, and I hope I've expressed myself well, English isn't my native language. On the other hand, is there anything I can do to facilitate or decongest the downloads? Or the fact that they have stopped could mean that I came to a standstill? Thank you very much in advance for any information or suggestion you can provide. Best regards!

  18. I have uTorrent 3.5.1, and it has been working fine. There were 6 torrents in the app that were at various stages of the download when it looks like Windows 10 decided to reboot itself (very irritating, but off topic). Now, all of my torrents have the status, "Error: Can't open torrent file C:\torrenting\xxx.torrent " Things that I have tried: 1. Restarting the torrent. Nothing happened. 2. Restarting uTorrent. All torrents reloaded with the same error message. 3. Double clicking the torrent file in the torrenting folder. I was asked if I wanted to reload the trackers since the torrent was already loaded. I selected Yes, but nothing changed. 4. Checking to make sure the C drive had enough space. I'm at about 50%. Is this common? What should I do? I really rather not upgrade to the latest app if I can avoid it.
  19. As there's no stable thread... 3.5.5.45291 available: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:E29F70B7F3374247EBE030CA23B0876B5F31E5C1 Binary size: 1.73 MB (1,820,392 bytes) / MD5: 80F8C7EA9A6946670668EBA2FF767BE4 No changelog at time of posting.
  20. Sometimes the client fails to recognize a file from a torrent that I already have in my computer. For example I am downloading a torrent whose content I already have, and while checking for the files it doesn't "see" some files, even though they are precisely the same ones it's looking for (and of course in the very same folder and with the very same name and size). Is there a way to force the client to count those files as complete? Hope I made myself clear.
  21. Whenever I "Remove and delete" several ".torrent+data" uTorrent steals focus from all other programs, to the point that I cannot activate any other programs or type on the keyboard. If fx. i click the browser window, the window title will activate for a split second and then the window unfocuses, and keeps doing this until all all torrents have been deleted. This occurs both if torrents are downloading or stopped. This is a fairly new behaviour, i have only experienced this for a couple months. Anyone else seen this behaviour? ----- Thinkpad T440s uTorrent 3.5.5 build 45271 Windows 10 Pro build 1809 16GB RAM 500GB SSD drive

No leak. Still at 116MB. It's just done it again too. Might have to start going backwards in version numbers until I find one that keeps working. But before that I'll set my max active torrents lower, it's probably higher than uTorrent is happy with, will keep halving it and see what happens. Anyone stabley have their set max active torrents limits at say 200+ or nah? Is currently appears stable on 400 active torrents.
  23. Why not just create a "Seen" label, and right click->add that label? You can then filter only those using that label...
  24. There is a modified exe posted in the beta thread/section using the LAA flag to let it use the whole 2G (or more) RAM which you can try.

Can you observe any memory leaking ? large amount allocated, close to 2G, being used? If so, you can try my specially version (above) set with LAA flag.

    3.5.x Beta

So everything's working fine but every few days it stops accepting new connections. Uploads and downloads just stop working and this has been an issue for me for a while now. If I add a torrent it sees the peers and the seeds but transfers nothing. Simply restarting the client fixes it. Any tips on what it could be? I downloaded Rafi's settings and changed all the advanced settings that I changed to match his and it did help performance but I still have this one issue. I have qBt running concurrently and it has no such issues. Anyone else seen this? Was running 45225, and just now updated to 45271 but I expect this won't change anything.
  27. Not correct. Upload WILL slow download not because utorrent wants to , but because if you set it to unlimited, the upload may saturate/load your connection upload, leaving no bandwidth to the TCP/UDP download ack-s packets, which , in turn WILL slow your download. You should limit your upload to no more then ~80% of your upload bandwidth. Make sure you leave about 5% of your download bandwidth free in the UP direction.
