ive ugraded the firmware to the dwwrt v23 or whatever its called. my router model is a lynksis WRT54G. when i say opened the port, i mean i went into the router page, in gaming and applications, and put in "utorr1" and opened the ports in which utorrent is using. (im not aware of anything about the static ip) better? thanks.

Ive upgraded the firmware, opened the port on the router page, and still, im getting the dreaded red exclamation point, saying im not connectable. anyone? thanks.
