Hey cheeseISgood (and everyone worried we're turning into Vuze), I know you don't want us to turn into something unrecognizable to what's made us a good home for you over the past many years - speed, light weight, no frills, etc. I also don't take you all for granted - I know we can lose you, we talk about you and users like you *a lot*, and we're all very happy to have you. I want to say that: - We read and we hear what you're saying. That's evidenced by changes we make specifically in response to your wants. - Obviously we screw up sometimes. Sorry. :/ Part of this is inevitable in the alpha/beta process, and I *really* appreciate you all telling us about our errors so we can fix them. - We will continue to change the product in ways our power users have asked for (or we think will like), such as in maintaining fast speed and light weight, solving stability issues and building some features from the idea bank and forums. - It's my belief that power users understand we'll make changes for other reasons as well, and that as long as we 1) do so in ways that keep the core product experience intact and 2) listen to feedback and make adjustments and fixes along the way, that this is acceptable. For example, it's NOT wrong to assist new users by trying to make the first user experience easier as long as we keep the existing user model intact and selected by default for returning users (users with previous settings). And it's okay to experiment with new features and technologies as long as we listen to user feedback and make necessary changes. And it's even okay to operate like a business and make money as long as we do so in an honest, open way and we don't cross any lines of respect or do anything ethically wrong. Please let me know if I'm wrong about my beliefs here - you or anybody. And thanks for donating your time to help us keep a correct course. By the way, about those icons: We had a simple goal of differentiating the "torrent action" icons from universal playback options. Because some new users were getting confused. I know we won't please everybody here. We DID send the icons to the forum for feedback many weeks back in hopes of pleasing more of you (http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=96984). But icons and aesthetics are troubling because they're so subjective. I think the best thing we can do is stop messing with them every release, and to continue to allow users to create their own icons or revert to icon sets they like from the past using skins.
