I have a problem with the people who bitch, or who are saying Ludde has done this limiter thing sneakily. Everyone else, including those with legitimate problems with the limiter and who post about it in a helpful way without whining, i dont have a problem with. woah, all you people complaining about the limiter need to learn to use your fricking eyes and do some damn reading. How on earth did you learn to use torrents in the first place!?!? And i bet 95% of the people complaining here are downloading illegal material anyway so you have no right to be complaining how fast you get it. And this is Ludde's client, i'm sure he would appreciate it if you put a bit of money in his pocket before bitching at him on his forum to change things. There are so many clients out there for you to choose from, if you dont like this one, why do you have to come back here and complain. Just go somewhere else and use another one. The only reason you must be coming back here is because deep down you know this client is one of the best to use IF used properly. So be patient with Ludde as he develops the features he has put in his client, he cant get everything right first time. If you have a problem then do some searching and/or reading about it, and help him out by posting about it in the proper place. All you people just instantly coming here, bitching about it without even getting your facts straight first are REALLY annoying. God help the next person i see in the IRC channel bitching about this.

Yes some people will need to read up on it for various reasons. What no one should need to do though is come onto the forum or into the IRC channel looking to argue about it.

Well apart from making sure you read up on the new download limiting feature, you wont have any problems.

Set your upload rate to 6kb/s and you won't be capped. Simple as that.

If the PC crashed then i doubt it. If Utorrent crashes then crash dumps are generated in the same directory as the .exe file.

For now. Ludde is planning on raising the limit in future builds.

- Change: Increase limited dl rate to 3x This means that when you lower your upload to the point where the client limits your download (at the moment this is set to any upload rate below 5KiB/s) then your download rate will be 3 x your upload rate. So if your upload rate is 3 then your download rate will be 9.

woot build 395 is out, got my update fix for today.

Plus Ludde has released new versions of his program (with extra features and bug fixes in) and the program size has got SMALLER. Ludde is clearly capable of taking care of his baby, there is no need to tell him to try and keep it smaller than '128kb'. Bittorrent as we know it will probably be a thing of the past before this client ever reaches the size of a floppy disk. And even if it does reach that size i'm not gonna be bothered as long as its memory and CPU usage is still top notch.

Between the latest beta, and the first version of utorrent available for download, it hasn't even doubled in size. This is despite how small it was then back then, and despite ALL the features that have been added since then. Ludde is developing this project superbly, and even if the client finally does break the 200kb barrier, i bet every last bit of code will be worth it.

@Firon: yes my torrent files are associated with UTorrent. You can try it yourself as i have this problem on any machine. Surely someone else can confirm this.

Good point Firon, but talking about adding multiple torrents i have a bug. If i select a group of torrent files in windows explorer and open them then i get multiple instances of utorrent. So lets say i select/highlight three torrents, then right click on the selection and press open. I get three instances of Utorrent, instead of three instances of the add torrent dialog in one utorrent window. Is this a bug in utorrent, or a limitation in the way windows is using the open command for groups of files opened at same time?

@Osmosis: i download a torrent from the internet, click on open, and Utorrent only comes to the fore if i dont have Utorrent open in the first place. If i have it minimised to taskbar, or have another window infront of utorrent (i.e. the internet explorer window im downloading torrent from), then Utorrent doesnt bring itself to the fore, it just flashes orange in the start bar.

@Osmosis: yeah they look good as they are now as of 393, so it was really just the size that was bothering me and not the style. Plus confirmed, the popup problem when double clicking on system tray icon is fixed in builds 392/393. In build 393 Utorrent still isn't bringing itself to the fore when you add a new torrent to it. Its just flashing orange in the start bar at the bottom of the screen. Is this the behaviour Ludde wants, or is this a bug?

sweet, cheers Ludde. Next can we get some animated strippers into the program while i wait for my download to finish. With the damn Mongo tracker down and only being able to connect to mainline DHT peers my download is going awfully slow. And i'll be a cold 6ft under the ground before i install Azureus.

an update a day keeps the blues away But seriously, anyone actually personally met Ludde, cuz i'm starting to think the guy is really a machine.

@Firon: Don't suppose Ludde has taken on board the comments regarding the sizing grips?

@osmosis: confirmed. @lynx: it should popup for the first time. Once Ludde stops releasing new versions every day it wont bother you so much anymore.

@Lynx: i know what u mean about the speed wizard thing, and I think Ludde accounted for that by only making it popup once. @Osmosis: the add new torrent window (taken from bitcomet) doesnt have the same one as the main window. as doesnt the rss window.

CHANGELOG: Show sizing grips in sizable windows Tbh Ludde i would have preferred the discreet design of the one you chose for the main window, instead of the one you picked for all the other windows.
