  1. µTorrent will only create the torrent file. You will have to post a copy of that file, or the magnet link, at an appropriate place where you think people will want it download it.

I  would like to  see the  number of  downloads...  that  kind of  feedback  is  important  to me .

Any  advice  as to  how  I  should  do  this  ?

Simply look under the "Availability" column. 1.00 means you are sharing it, so anything greater than 1.00 is a download. 2.00 = 1 download. 3.00 = 2 downloads etc.
To enable Availabilty if it is not showing, right-click the header column & select it:

  3. What version are you currently running? The last versions that worked on Windows XP were:
    3.5.5_45311 Stable
    3.5.5_45309 Beta

Note: 3.5.5_45335 Stable also worked but there was an annoying pop-up message that always appeared when launching uTorrent (for me anyway):

    Downloading the Pro package failed.
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

For BitTorrent on Windows XP, 7.10.5_45312 was the last version that worked.

all this stuff [ below] at the end of your message...

...is simply my signature (which appears on all my posts) and not part of my reply.
Anyway, once you've opened your folder (as mention by rafi) containing the downloaded files, open vlc then drag'n'drop the file onto vlc interface.

(Forget MediaInfo for the now,  but when installed it adds a right-click context menu entry to media files & when you right-click on such a media file and select MediaInfo. a small window opens showing details regarding the files properties such as codecs used. As you have vlc, this program already comes with the necessary codecs required to play most files).

  5. If the .torrent files exist, then make sure those files are in the folder set in the µTorrent's preferences (Options>Preferences>Directories).
If the download files/data from these torrents is still on the hard drive, make sure they are in the folder set in µTorrent's preferences (Options>Preferences>Directories).
Once this is done, add each torrent (File>Add Torrent).
µTorrent should then check what has been download already. If everything is correct after checking, uTorrent will seed.

    2. No. The LAA flag was added by me, so the signature is "broken". Exclude the exe  in your A/V &  Win Defender apps

Doesn't this added LAA flag work with any version of uTorrent?
i.e. changing the specific value 03>23 in the binary

  7. uTorrent & BitTorrent are essentially identical in all but name. uTorrent is developed by BitTorrent Inc.
Both can be installed on the same PC. Place the binary BitTorrent.exe into a separate folder. With uTorrent exited, copy your resume.dat & settings.dat files to that new folder. Now run BitTorrent.exe but I'd imagine you'll experience the same freezing.

  8. I just tried version 19248 on Windows XP and had no freezing issues.
I'd guess it's down to the amount of torrent files within the program. To rule this out, Exit uTorrent, then copy uTorrent.exe & settings.dat to a new folder. Run uTorrent.exe from this new folder and see if the program freezes. If it doesn't, then your problem is most likely due to the amount of torrent files. In which case, an updated version of uTorrent may/may not help.

    Both 45974 == 45918 are identical...

    They're not identical.
Sure, they may be the same size but they have different checksums.
    3.5.5_45918.exe : CRC32 = D522A732
    3.5.5_45974.exe : CRC32 = A245C1D9

It's not the first time 2 releases have had the same size.
    For example:
    3.5.5_45838.exe & 3.5.5_45790.exe are both 2.01 MB (2,113,240 bytes).
    3.5.5_45776.exe & 3.5.5_45702.exe are both 1.83 MB (1,920,232 bytes).

    Where is 3.5.5_45798 ?

Instead of filling to topic with the same inane question for each new release, try posting the version yourself.
