  1. Didn't I mention "Google clicks" as well ? Google gives you a service - a search engine - and make money out of your clicks. Is this so different from click-starting an *optional* offer-torrent or a similar link ? Using adblock vs using a firewall (for example) is that much different ? You simply don't understand. I don't know for everyone else but I first started using and recommending uTorrent because it was indeed lightweight and somewhat solid. Now the bloat is starting to show up, and I'm reluctant to waste any more cycles (no matter how small) on my CPU for code that is dedicated to advertisements. The more code dedicated to bloat, the less the claims of "Super fast. Ultra light. That means ultra-efficient downloads of mega-sized files." are It is not a problem for me, I will simply switch torrent clients. I'm sure some other client will use this opportunity to put out a better more efficient product as well.
  2. Comparing Google ads to what's taking place with uTorrent is dishonest at best. uTorrent was and strangely enough still is marketed as a lightweight torrent client, but the reality of the situation is that it is fast becoming anything but that, the bloat creeps in slowly but surely. Now you guys want to make it adware. That's cool your software but i'm pretty sure that this decision is not going to go without consequences from the userbase. I was a bit suspicious when uTorrent got bought out awhile back, but now I can see my suspicions have been confirmed. I also agree that uTorrent 2.2.1 seemed to be the last great version. Remember uTorrent got popular for a reason.
  3. More info about it: I re-uploaded my settings.dat: http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/XT757JVZ/settings.dat_links so it can be checked to see if there is a problem. I tried it again with 3.1.3 build 27220 btw. Still happening with latest build.
  4. That's the same problem I have, but on Windows XP 32-bit. More info on the 2012-05-22 12:48:28 post. Also my settings.dat is here: http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/XT757JVZ/settings.dat_links

  6. Our problem: More info about it:
  7. Well, I'm on Windows XP SP3. I have all options under System Tray Enabled, but "Show Balloon Notifications". And also have enabled "Start uTorrent when Windows Starts" and "Start Minimized". For the time being I have made a little batch file to delay uTorrent when Windows starts, for the moment it has worked; but is not the ideal solution. Something like: ping -n 40 localhost > nul start "uTorrent" "<Directory>\uTorrent.exe" /MINIMIZED Another description for the problem could be that it's like it is on Boss Mode, but I don't even use that option . Here is my settings.dat: http://www.anonstorage.net/PStorage/602.settings.dat
  8. Same thing, have tried all of the options on UI Settings > System Tray and General > Windows Integration.
  9. Is it gonna be fixed? Do I have to change something for it work? Anything? Someone?

  11. Yes, that is true. An updated help file would help. Is it gonna be fixed? Do I have to change something for it work? Anything?
  12. Same thing, but I didn't revert to 3.1.2. No internet, restarted PC and internet worked again; pretty weird and first time it has happened since installing 3.1.3 and using uTorrent in general. Could be something else, will tell if it repeats. Anything on this?
  13. Everytime uTorrent starts with Windows and since 3.1.2, the icon is never on the tray. I have to close uTorrent an open it again for it to appear. I have the options: "Start uTorrent when Windows Starts" and "Start Minimized" checked. On 2.2.1 this also happened, but not so frequently (like 30% of the time).
  14. No, I mean I can't find the option at all on Preferences->Advanced. And want to change it because on my newest torrent the priorities have set themselves and can't modify them. I've downloaded your settings files btw.
