unistall and reinstall without losing torrents

Hi I'm having problems all of a sudden with utorrent 1.8.7 on my macbook air. I was simply going to uninstall and reinstall utorrent. I don't want to lose already downloaded and finished torrents...or ones that I am seeding and ones that haven't completed downloading. Is this possible or do I have to start from scratch after I uninstall? Thanks in advance PS. I've tried troubleshooting...force quitting and restarting....shutting down etc.
