  1. As earlier in this thread The people who do testing and provide feedback do not need to be fed automated updates via a semi-working CDN, we (as in the global we) already know how to load a new version or regress several builds for comparative checks. To have the general run of users looking at feature testing is asking for a slew of questions that will only serve to confuse, (see about six posts up regarding empty icon holder). A version should ONLY go generally publicly live at late beta or Release Candidate stage. By doing that should also help reduce the critiscm from indexing sites and tracker operators regarding "buggy" versions creating problems on their systems. Having a 'proper' bug tracking system also provides for a feature testing environment rather than using forum threads, which, if open to all members WILL get sidetracked/hijacked/spammed and will simply make moderation that bit more time consuming.
  2. Reported in build 29985 Just as added info, the scanned column reappears on any action that requires a RedrawWindow call for the GUI.
  3. Why? The icon for both is the accepted 'standard' for "Information" and the "Updates" tab is informational.
  4. Which actual build? Because there has been quite a few available that have been masquerading as 30345 And; Do you have the "[ ] Use Label and Directory Rules" selected?
  5. You HAVE to select a job to stop (or start) first.
  6. Actually it is Shift+Delete. Ctrl+Delete is to remove and delete the metadata file. Or you could set that to be the default action for the delete key and the Remove button. RTFM for the various existing remove options and how to set them.
  7. set the cache BELOW 756MB, because as the closer the cache gets to 2GB (1800) the more likely it is that uTorrent WILL crash. Assuming you are running 64bit Windows with over 8G RAM, start with 1xRAM min - 2.5xRAM max With 32bit Windows, (which cannot address more than 4GB) and 32GB RAM you should use the extra memory as a "RAM Disk" and set the swapfile to be on that drive. Then the 'virtual' memory is just as fast as the 'real' memory.
  8. Works fine in build 3.4.0.30345
  9. Which really defeats the purpose of using or even having an auto loading feature, as it's purpose is for unattended loading of metadata. Drop metadata files into a location and the client loads it and starts it running.
  10. What size cache have you set for uTorrent? Windows caching problems are related to the number of jobs that are active and holding file 'handles' open that "Superfetch" is 'anticipating' as being required to be instantly available. You can test different settings for a fixed size "swapfile" rather than allowing Windows to manage it automatically (which it rarely gets right), start with it set to 1.5 x RAM as a minimum size and 2 x RAM for the max size (so 4GB RAM would mean 6166MB to 8192MB swap file size (System Properties -> Avanced -> Performance) ArsTechnica have a article that explains the Windows NT variants memory handling in a not too geeky way. The thing is ... The 'other options' also add to the overhead.

  12. That's pretty much up to Microsoft, but the problems have been there in varying degrees since Windows NT 3.51 so it probably won't go away any time soon. If you want to see what Windows is doing with the memory, install RAMMap and you can see the usage on a file by file basis. You might be surprised just how many other things are using memory even when they are not even active (just in case you might be considering using them).
  13. Though on running it promptly offered to downgrade to 30317, which it did so despite me pressing cancel, which THEN instantly offered to download and install build 30319. So after another round of refreshes and getting 30341, 30317, 30324 (checking properties before replacing or testing the installer) 30345 puts in an appearance. But at least is not as frustrating as having to submit a post FIVE times just to ask yet another muppet to post their version and build!!!!
  14. Only took five browser refreshes to get 30345 as well, must be having a good day
  15. I immediately got 3.4.0.30341 I'll trade you for build 30318
  16. Sure that is all well and good BUT test builds should NEVER make it to the PUBLIC face of the update delivery network. OR if it does it MUST BE accompanied with a detailed change log and/or the specific change or bug fix that it is aimed at, that we, the users that are dedicated to helping YOU are getting the imformation that is needed to fully test the aspect that needs to tested. Just delivering random builds WITHOUT the information necessary is akin to taking shooting rats in a pitch dark cellar, you may get the odd rat, but you could also shoot your own foot at the same time. If you want the volunteer Alpha/Beta testers to test properly and not get pissed off with the haphazard, seemingly incompetent and VERY unprofessional way it is currently done, provide the information that we (using we as meaning the users) need to help you. If you do not want to make information about the source code public, then run a CLOSED Alpha/Beta delivery system with a REAL bug tracking system, a seperate login and use a N.D.A. for the users who want to assist.
  17. Still labelled 30331 on the CDN, though the build that is delivered is actually 30324.
  18. Ok this must have been a GUI glitch somehow, removing and reloading all the jobs cured the multiple display.
  19. Of course they don't, what they do have is the reputation and the userbase that uTorrent had built up BEFORE BitTorrent Inc purchased it, and it is only that historical reputation that sustains it currently.
  20. Exactly! Revolution not rhetoric.
  21. Though I must admit a small amount of admiration at the ingeneous way that each instance in the GUI show a slightly different payload size and different peer counts!!
  22. Well I feel that congratulations are in order, the bug with the erroneous counting for persitent labels is fixed finally. NOW How about RE-FIXING the SINGLE JOB appearing multiple times once again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! build 30331
  23. Quick question: Is 'right' in the above context being used as a synonym for 'correctly' or for 'immediately'?
  24. Not a uTorrent problem ... Find a forum for your operating system or your keyboard.
