  1. Great. Any special configuration that you set? Use Photoshop... lol... But yeah, it is useful I would think that it would take you some time and effort to use Photoshop. I myself wouldn't go through all that trouble. I would just upload screen shots. I don't have time to mess around with Photoshop. Seriously now, can you get uTorrent to display multiple detail windows within uTorrent? Thank You.
  2. Some time ago you could select to enable a test feature before you install the program' date=' it was called Distributed Share and there is an option for it: distributed_share.enable Just in case I've disabled it and so far no more strange big files with the hidden label.[/quote'] I like how you have multiple detail windows open in uTorrent. Can you let me know how you accomplished this? It really comes in handy. BTW, how did you get build 29678? It wasn't even posted. Today, I was able to upgrade to beta build 29689 via the automatic update feature. Why don't they just release the next beta so everyone can obtain it? I like to keep the installation file on my storage partition, in the downloads/uTorrent/ file, just in case I need to go back to a working beta build in the future/. Thank You.
  3. Is this New 3.3.1.29638 Beta, or Release Candidate? When I started uTorrent, it told me that there was a new Release Candidate 3.3.1 build 29638. Can you please clear this up? Thank You.
  4. YES, please use BEncode and follow the directions exactly and you won't have any problems. I thought the same way to, until I tried it, and it works. PLEASE, SAVE the original in a safe place, just in case you mess it up some how. That's what I always do!
  5. You can get around this by either using WebUI and/or remote.utorrent.com and when it come up, just go to the settings and go directly to the Directories settings, just check off Append torrent label, and SAVE it. Now all your torrents will go to the directories in which you have labeled them. I know this because I missed it very much, then I was trying out remote.utorrent and WebUI, and just for the hell of it, I saved the settings. It works!
  6. Same here. I've had it with uTorrent. I was running the stable 3-point-something version a while ago, then suddenly some update broke everything and randomly torrents were doomed to remain at 0.0%, stuck in checking-limbo or whatnot. Restarting uTorrent sometimes fixed it, sometimes it didn't. So I read up on the forums whether there was a fix, and all I could find was the recommendation to try the beta. So I installed the beta and everything worked fine. Then another update came out and uTorrent broke down again with the above bug. No torrent info, no peers, no trackers, nothing. It seems like for every bug that gets fixed three others pop up. I don't know what's going on, but it feels like whoever is working on this is dropping the ball continuously. All I really want from my torrent software is stability and reliability. I feel like the time and energy that I'd waste in getting this to work would be better spend in finding an alternative, especially if I'm going to have to refix shit every time there's a new update that breaks some other part. So, after about 5 years of having used uTorrent, I've uninstalled it and am retiring it from my software package. Thanks for having provided me with a free and good torrent engine for all those years. Perhaps I'll re-install it in half a year or so; perhaps things'll have improved by then. I use to have similar problems, and I swore that it was the developers fault. What you should be looking at is what else do you have installed on your system? That could be causing allot of problems, I'm just trouble shooting. You also might want to try, before updating utorrent, make sure you back up your resume.dat files, then completely uninstall uTorrent including the settings, then delete the %AppData%/uTorrent directory. Then do a clean install, then before doing anything, go to Setup Guide and let it run the tests, then save the settings, then, set up your preferences with the minimal changes. You should change the Directories, Queueing, Remote, UI Extra, and Web UI settings only. If you still have the same problems, then it COULD be something on your system. I know this sounds like allot of work, but if you want to keep things running good, you have to do some maintenance. Personally, I usually, back up my personal files, then I wipe the boot drive and do a CLEAN install of Windows. That usually clears up any problems I've been having. It's totally up to you what you want to do. This is just my advice. After I did all that, and IF I was still having the same problem, then I ALWAYS went back to the Stable Build. If you set up uTorrent with your own specific colors, icons ect., before I would do anything, make/copy/move the current.btskin to your backup drive, but don't keep your old settings.dat file. I've had similar problems, and I tried other P2P clients, and uTorrent is allot better, and has allot of features I like.
  7. I'm using the uTorrent 3.3 Stable version and all magnet links are working. What browser are you using? What addons are you using with your browser?
  8. It's crashing your wireless? Or do you mean that uTorrent is crashing your computer or it knocks your laptop off the wireless? I think the later because if it crashes your wireless, then everything that's connected to your wireless (cell phones, iPads/iPods, Android, etc.) would be knocked off.
  9. I had the same thought. Apparently it was somehow removed, but if you use uTorrent Remote, go under settings, you can set it there. I know this because I use it and it works. Hope this helps.
  10. It was easy to find, it's on M$ site at http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653 or you can go to the main site and download the whole Suite. I recommend that you do this, you can go here for that http://technet.microsoft.com/en-US/sysinternals Let me know how you make out in getting the file(s)!
  11. Thanks for the link for the updated HELP/CHM file! I have to download the CYGWin files, install that, then I can compile the utorrent.chm file. So every time they come out with a NEW RC/Stable version, they update the help file? If they do, that's really great. It's only great for me, if I can get CYGWin installed and run it correctly! Any tips/advice in using CYGWin? I know that I'm installing the FULL and latest package (version 1.7.17-1), which is approximately 1Gb in files/addons. I first had to download and install the Bonjour Server, by Apple, Inc., but I downloaded it from Download.com/ C/Net at http://download.cnet.com/bonjour-for-windows/3028-18507_4-93550.html?c=SEM&s=fivemill&pid=dlcom_sem&aid=bonjour%20for%20windows-e&dlc=n , so if anyone else wants to attempt to compile the latest help file for µTorrent, they can. Thanks
  12. I can respect that also. What do they have as the defaults? The ones that you get when you FIRST do a CLEAN install of µTorrent? They really don't give you much to start with. At least what you give the NEWBIEs out there, something they can START with. The old timers out here, know what they want, and they have some "exotic" set up especially, the ones with 1Gb/s transfers. I, myself, only have 50Mb/s and sometimes/most of the time, I don't come close to those speeds. What I don't understand is that someone with 1Gb/s connection, how do they maintain that? Because if the rest of the seeders of a particular torrent only have 50Mb/s or slower, there is no way that they will getting that file any time soon. BUT, if they are seeding/uploading, well, that's another story. Thanks.
  13. If you don't use magnets, how else can you download the files, via URL link? From what I know about the URL links, they are the magnet links, for example, the link would look something like this: magnet:?xt=urn:btih:a79cd69b7. If I'm wrong, can you please explain. I'm still learning this stuff about Torrents, even though I've been using them for about five years. Thanks.
  14. rafi, Do you have a NEW settings.dat for the latesst stable release of µTorrent 3.3? Also, is the Help file also being updated? I would think that it would be easier to keep it updated for every "Stable" release because it wouldn't require a re-write. These are just suggestions I'm giving. I rely on your settings.dat file. Personally, I think that everyone should start off with those settings, and tweak it from there. Any ideas? Thanks.
  15. Are you updating the flags.config and the flags.test.config files everyone is giving you in this forum? If not, then I have allot of work to do. Also, you do have all the flags for all the countries don't you? or will that also be changing? Lastly, what are the flags.GoSquared.bmp, flags.test.famfamfam.bmp, flags.test.famfamfam_detail.bmp, flag.test_detail.bmp, flags_detail.bmp, newflag.bmp files for? If they are different versions, which versions look better? BTW, you are doing a great job with all this. I don't know how you make the .bmp files so detailed. Maybe this could be a suggestion? How about for the US, have the flags of each state in there somewhere, so we know what state they are coming from? I don't know if you have to do a complete rewrite of this or not? It's only a suggestion. Keep up the good work. Thank You
  16. Correct. It will be replaced with the "auto labelling" feature when that is ready. ciaobaby, you have indirectly answered my question. That's why my torrents aren't moving into the Completed Torrents/Site Name/ folder. Do you have any inside knowledge of when this "auto labeling" will be implemented? I really would like this feature back. I'm forced to "manually" to move the files to Completed Torrents/Site name/ folder. This "auto labeling" thing is something I might not like/want, unless you can supply us with a little more detail how it works. Any comments would be appreciated. And again, thank you for indirectly answering my question. I really thought I was missing something. Thank You.
  17. Hi, I'm just getting into changing my colors in uTorrent. You don't know if you have a chart showing what all the btskin apply to, just like you did with the downloading and with the download/upload bars. Can you also tell me what the _bg colors are for? Thanks.
  18. How is uT 3.3 stable? When I installed it, I kept getting searching for ???? (I think it was peers), but then I switched back 3.2.3 build 28705, everything went back to normal and I was able to get all my downloads. Has there been any setting changes in 3.3 Stable? Thank You.
  19. They're both out of date. I just updated them' date=' though. If you use the one in the help menu, you should get an updated copy.[/quote'] That's great! I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 SP1 Ultimate, and installed uTorrent 3.3. Haven't tested it yet, but where can I get the updated ones from, what's the link? Thank You.
  20. I get this sometimes on Windows 7 SP1 (32- bit), but it's something you shouldn't worry about. Its Windows trying to protect you from from unknown publishers from installing unknown programs on your computer. I believe it is a security protection. I might be a little concerned if Windows didn't tell me anything and let me install any program on my system.
  21. Static IP on your own local LAN is not a security risk. It is required for smooth port forwarding. You might be able to set your router to assign it according to the MAC address. Yes, I take that for granite that my local LAN is static IP. You local IP is something like 192.168.1.1? My Broadband connection is Dynamic. Is this what you mean?
  22. Thanks for posting this info. I just did a dir and I also have a file called END. I also noticed that I lost my "skin" for the toolbar as well. I made an attempted to add a new "skin" and still, the toolbar remained the "built-in" toolbar. I noticed right after I installed the 3.3 RC 1, which was this morning at 11:18 AM EST.
  23. yes pick any port between 49152-65535 at add it to options>preferences>connections in utorrent. Then you either click on 'unpnp port mapping' to automatically forward your specified port or you can check out http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/ and do it manually! P.S...Setup your pc to use a static ip. Why use Static IP? I was under the assumption that Dynamic is better so no one can trace or monitor what you are doing.
  24. Make a shortcut where your uTorrent.exe is. Right click the shortcut. Click properties add a space and /recover for the target in the properties.. ex: "C:\Program Files\uTorrent\uTorrent.exe" /Recover As for the port try any port between 49152 - 65535. Thanks for getting back so quickly! About the ports, can I pick any port from 49152 - 65535? An I suppose to somehow configure the port for uTorrent? Please be nice, I'm new at the "Ports" thing. All I know, if you have the wrong port, the app won't work. Thank You.
  25. Thanks, worked automagically! ! !
