  1. How odd... :/ I'm on OOo 2.0.1 Linux (x86), but the hash is 5313064E30C41EE26FE2B0248F1BE71E97AEECCA...not the same as yours. Are you sure you selected the standard one and not the one with JRE? :|
  2. Hofshi, try the Linux version of the OOo torrent. I'm a seeder there (and have set Encryption to Enabled).
  3. Thank you for the tip, Hofshi. I've added that torrent to the end of the mini-guide.
  4. Sloshua: yep just patch the TCP/IP file to 608 and set the net.max_half_open parameter to 304 and you're good to go. Hofshi: that's because Ludde and Firon feel differently on what settings are "better". I say use whatever you feel works best for you.
  5. Nah, don't worry about it. With such a wide upload capacity, you should set it to 304, no problems.
  6. In Build 419, Options ▶ Preferences... ▶ Other Options. It's right down there. P.S. all this is explained in the FAQ.
  7. IINM, it means that 33% of your Read Cache is being used...someone correct me if I'm wrong. :|
  8. Ha! :/ You should've seen the uproar caused by the innocent Santa Claus animation a month ago. Panic attacks among the paranoid squad became very frequent during those days...
  9. Because almost everyone is paranoid. I got the message when I upgraded to Build 419. No big deal. :/
  10. It's just a warning for those who've paid for µTorrent telling them they've been scammed. Gheeez. :/
  11. By testing it with the OOo torrent. If you get miserable speeds with this torrent (assuming you've port forwarded, set good values in your options etc. and all that), then your ISP is most likely to blame. :| http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.html
  12. Hmm...that's very, very interesting, Falcon4. Never heard of this tweak myself. Thanks for sharing it with everyone here. Edit: typo.
  13. No idea...sorry. You can Google "tv show torrents" or something like that.
  14. I have 128 kb/s upload, and realistically the most you'll get from it is 11 kB/s upload. You'll almost never reach your maximum download speed unless you're on an extremely fast torrent, and most public torrents aren't well-seeded. But sure, it would definitely be an improvement over your current 64 kb/s.
  15. Now you know it's not your ISP. You have very, very limited upload bandwidth, and realistically you won't maximize your downloads every time. :/ Edit: OpenOffice.org is just a test torrent, but you can install and use it like M$ Office (if you want).
  16. GaVrA: our "standard" speed test here has always been OOo. If you get good speeds with this torrent, then you know it's not your ISP messing around. http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.html
  17. I'm seeing the same lowercase "e"...never seen it before. Odd. :/
  18. ● Bees can form a swarm (every torrent consists of a swarm) ● Bees are useful because they make honey as well (BitTorrent is useful because many people help distribute a file together) ● Bees gather among each other and become one huge force if they are being threatened (the BitTorrent community unites to fight against RIAA/MPAA etc. scumbags) And bees are cool.
  19. Your problem is that you have a severely choked upload connection. A 64 kb/s upload doesn't allow you to receive much download. :/ Also, your speeds depend on the torrent. How many seeds and peers do you see? On a "good" torrent, you should download about twice your upload speed, in your case ~12 kB/s. But that's very rare, so on most torrents ~6 kB/s is more typical.
  20. Oh come on... :/ Download Beta Build 413, open µTorrent, press Ctrl G (on your keyboard, you know), and select that option - xx/64kbit - from the drop-down menu. Easy.
  21. Did you try what Firon told you first? If so, what happened? :|
  22. And if you keep getting bad download speeds, you ought to try Encryption. µTorrent doesn't have a large presence yet, but with Azureus supporting the same Encryption scheme, you should be able to get better speeds once both clients have stabilized.
