Strange, my router DNS just keels over for a couple of minutes when µTorrent starts. Probably the uTP at fault here, how do I disable it?

Hi,

I'm having a problem of having my internet connection virtually cut off for a few minutes while uTorrent starts up. I am unable to surf the web at all until uTorrent finishes it's initial startup connections. My router doesn't crash during this period though. Also, I know autoupdate is delayed, but it's been five days since the new build has come out, and autoupdate still isn't picking it up. I was using 1.8.2 for the longest time without any autoupdate notifications.
