    no, the program is complete and "ready to use"!

    Just make sure you do the correct setup of your computer settup/network connection so that it can work well.

    Read the beginners and setup guide as a start how to do that (links below in my signature)

    and then there were these "semi public" ones for those "not everybody's mother"-guys that hang out in the µT IRC channel that were not announced on the download page for the "mothers"-public

    So falcon if you want 1.7 betas, ask your mother if you can hang out more in µT channel

    If there are non seeds in the swarm and the availability is less then 1.000 then it does mean that not one complete set of all pieces is in the swarm. In that situation and when your upload ratio is much much greater then what you have downloaded you can pause that torrent and wait if a seeder comes back.

    But if you see seeders: 0 of 0 connected (x-thousands in swarm) it is likely that you wanted to download something that was not authorized to be downloaded and that it is a so called Faketorrent. The torrent is useless datagarbage in that case and you can delete it!

    you might have no peers due to tracker errors (thats what's the course for the red arrow is) but the fact having no peers is no error.

    I have here for example some torrents that have no peers right now, but they are green or red because TPB is timed out again ;-)

    gmx has relatively good working spam filters (they even censor freedom of speed activists that do not send spam :( ).

    And if our hero uses the webinterface of gmx.de no real usefullness of spamming him

    unfortunately i was not able to read his reactions. :-(

    his posting statistics showing 9 posts. so there must be a few more after i told him that i don't wanted to flame but seriously asking this severe mentall illness thing why i would think someone the used to call i***t would do him a favour.

    But as i understand he has informed our Boss (ludde) about our bad bad behaviour against him. ;-)

    Ultima, I'm lazy with that password stuff. A forum is not super secure important to have a long passphrase for it!

    Even on my xp home versiion i use an Admin account without password and surf with this admin rights the net right now. (Okay, I do NOT use IE, but thats the only "security" i use next to xpsp2 build in FW and a NATing Fritzbox)

    Maybe i'm looking for a reason to switch this maschine to Linux. But the Reason "compromised with Malware" did not occour up until now as far as i can say

    (checking it by analysing network traffic outgoing from this machine from time to time and using a knoppix based AV scanner once a month)

    As Michail Gorbatchow (spelling?) once said before the breakdown of east german government "who comes to late will be punished by life" (german to english translation by me)

    Official translation by his simultanious translator from russian to german was: "Wer zu spät kommt, den bestraft das Leben"

    Anyway:

    Firon said it is "semi public", so i will start using it after the next reboot too.

    P.S. could someone please repair the link on the HP to the forum?

    forum.utorrent.com is not working right now.

    If you have saved your login in a cookie (and have forgotten it after that) it will not work until you edit your cookie file. I guess there a many more users that do not remember their login PW and can now not login if they do not know how to modify their cookie file.

    I have postet before why i think there should be "official" md5 sums out.

    #300 Nefarious are u an official tester for the nonofficial betas?

    If so, report your bug finding in the special section for betatesters. (maybe on the forum numbers 9 or 10 or another between 12 and 19)

    HERE on the public forums No support/no troubleshooting for nonpublic betas!

    I don't think there is a changelog, since the betas are "D:nach wie vor" non public ones.

    what do you think why #292 postet 2 more links then the original(is it ?) link for this beta at the beta URLs on utorrent.com. One of then a torrent link?! (use your brain; MS LAW 1)

    The utorrent.com link does NOT look suspicious so if the domain is not highjacked the content you might can DL there might be a genuine one from ludde.

    And as on the last "leaked" one, i would appriciate it, if firon or ludde would poste a md5 hash for it.

    The routinely publishing of the md5hash smight be something to be considered for future official releases too; the interest in µtorrent is growing, its specialform (one single small .exe) makes it likely a target to be just the filemane for some malicious things. So having an "official" md5 (or other maybe more secure(?) checking mechanismen) might be usefull to prevent PR-desasters like the peer factor one. Imagine some (stupid!) editor of some stupid(!) onlinemagazine/site gets a µtorrent version that is infact not what it is, this file kills his mp3 archive. Could you imagine the possible desaster an article of this editor could have?!

    having some form of public "genuine-test" out, you could easily point at him and say "what a fool, he could check that the file was not genuine but a trick of "THEM" to weaken the "D:Ansehen" of luddes work and to bring this programm in miscredit.
