Hi! I have a problem with the latest build too. as you will see in picture. utorrent process is far too big and i cant close it, even if the window is closed.
Did you change anything in the disk cache settings?

After installation of 26753 I've got report: V8 bundle: Failed to set bundle offset. I guess this is related to Plus bundle.
Don't worry about that. It's harmless.
-
Well, normally we would batch updates and do an update once every week or so, but we decided it'd be better to just iterate quickly this time around and refresh daily with fixes for the things users report. We get feedback much more quickly this way too.

Does it ever turn green? If it does, you're probably okay.
But if it doesn't, it's probably Kaspersky's doing. Remove exceptions for uT, reboot, then recreate them. Make sure incoming AND outgoing TCP/UDP traffic is allowed.

Hit the toggle torrent view button, scroll up to the top of the list, then toggle again. The button is in the upper right corner of the toolbar.

Guys, I successfully installed Plus, but uTorrent is saying to me: "Failed to download your plus license key". What is happening? I thought that the purchase is confirmed before you receive the special install software that convert normal to Plus?
I am using:
- 3.1.2 26749
-Windows 7 64-bit
-Dell XPS 15z
Please help!

OBT's tracker is really, really unreliable. Don't worry about it too much. If you have DHT turned on, it doesn't make a difference.

We can't really do silent updates unless we stop installing in Program Files, since that requires a UAC prompt.
But we're planning such an option for the future.

I'm running µTorrent 3.1.2 (build 26740) on WinXP SP3. It crashes every time I try to add a magnet link.
I click a link from the browser, µTorrent is given focus and the "Add Torrent" dialog opens, then the crash happens. When the program reopens, if I add the Magnet Link again, it works. But only the first time. If I try a second time, all this process is repeated.
Could you try 26745?

We're actually planning on replacing the Files tab with the treeview from the Add Torrent dialog at some point.
Also, perhaps we can just have the AT dialog refresh itself with metadata and showing a loading spinner. So if you really want to select files beforehand, you can just leave it open until it has the .torrent.
-
You can always select files after the fact. The files tab allows you to do so.
We'll have to evaluate our approach at some point, but I don't think popping up the add dialog after the .torrent metadata is received is the right approach.
I'm open to suggestions though.

Could you email me a dump file of the crash?
My email is firon at utorrent dot com. Thanks!

26740 isn't available to download, it's 26729 that is downloaded on the link on the first page of the topic.
The website's download page is the authoritative link. The forum is sometimes wrong.
I updated it in any case.

So, I guess the admins of ExtraTorrent and the other sites were right when they said that it's a "known bug in uTorrent 3.1.2" that there's something wrong with the hashing algorithm and that the .torrent files actually WERE indexed incorrectly. Hmm... interesting.
Good thing I reported it, event though you all said it was a problem with rTorrent and NOT something that you all (the uTorrent devs) had done wrong.
You're welcome, in any case.
We changed the order of the keys to make rtorrent happy. Some trackers still break on the negative numbers, and it's still up to them to fix it.
It has nothing to do with the hashing algorithm. rtorrent's just overly strict about key order in dictionaries.
-
We have a new build of 3.1.2 up. This should fix both the missing torrents problem and fix torrent creation so rtorrent will load our torrents again.

Right click on the column header and you can re-add the various columns.
Thank you. We do not like change. I fight it with every inch of my being.
We often change stuff, but we make it possible to revert to the old look in almost every case, since there's always some users that don't like what we do.
You can even split the done and status columns if you hate it so with an Advanced option.
-
Overload at the beginning of the torrent means that the client is busy allocating the file. Just be patient. USB drives are much slower too, so this first step can take a LOT longer.

We actually don't want to do it that way.
It's intrusive (getting the torrent can take a very long time), and it means that your torrent won't start until possibly hours or days later if you aren't there.

The old 2.0.4 btskins would probably work. You can hide the other stuff you don't like (right click on e.g. devices) and such.

*sigh* I knew updating would be a huge mistake, but this is what I get for not checking it out and blindly pressing "yes"... Seriously, what's with the UI changes every version? I just updated from 2.2.1 (using a skin for the even older version) after receiving a prompt for it, and to my disgust everything's changed. The download % bars are changed amongst other things and I'm even more confused than I was after the update to the 2.* UI. After browsing for half an hour to find 2.2.1 for a downgrade, I discover that after doing it, the languages are mixed up (I always had uTorrent set to Bulgarian, but now the non-essential parts of the UI (e.g. seeding, downloading etc.) are now in English while the rest is in Bulgarian like it should be... can I even fix *that* or do I have to bear with it? Sorry if this has been talked about but I'm so enraged about it right now that I don't even feel like searching...

Just go back to 3.1.2. It's really not that different.

By default the Windows cache is bypassed, but it can help some users to not do so.

Hi,
i have been using utorrent for more then 2 years now, then i installed 3.1.2 and it was a big mistake : i have a disk overloaded 100% error and. i noticed that many people have this problem for a long time now and no fix.
anyway where can i find the link for the old utorrent 2.2.1, i mean i can't download anything with 3.1.2 !
Turn off disable Windows caching for reads and writes in the disk cache preferences.

Ignoring the new fields is proper behavior and does not cause the torrent to not work. There's no valid reason to reject the torrents based on them having these fields. If the client chokes for having those fields' date=' THAT client should be banned for improper behavior, not uTorrent.[/quote']
uTorrent isn't banned, just the torrent file created with it because of many complaints from people that use rTorrent on their seedboxes. There's now a stalemate, none of the developers wanting to modify their client to suit the other client's needs. You don't want to remove those fields, they don't want to ignore the fields and the users are caught in the middle. Over 90% of home users use uTorrent and over 90% of seedbox owners have rTorrent. I think that there is time for a compromise, be the bigger man kind of thing and think who is gonna suffer from these decisions. The developers couldn't care less, the tracker owners as well and there are the users that can't use their favorite client. Anyway, I'm hoping that you'll understand what I wanted to say and this will be my last post regarding this matter.
Every single client can handle the torrents just fine, honestly. It's just rtorrent.
We'll see what exactly makes rtorrent break and we'll consider what to do based on that.

Yeah, there seems to be a problem related to that. It appears to be a lie. It actually finishes moving, but never updates the status. Does stopping and starting the torrent fix it? A re-check might work too.
