  1. Check the "Pre-allocate all files" box and "Disable Windows caching of disk writes" and if that does not work either, just do what I did, revert to 2.2.1. uTorrent 3.x is buggy as hell. With the latest version you can't even create a correct torrent file.
  2. A workaround is to open the torrent file with maketorrent 2 and save it or create the file directly with maketorrent.
  3. I have 5 feeds and only one is to blame. I disabled that feed and all is ok for the time being. I don't have to replace it with a public feed because I don't use public trackers. LE: Now this shit surfaced: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=100928 I repair one, another one is broken.
  4. Nothing, the log is empty. LE: At every feed update, utorrent hangs for a couple of seconds. LLE: Found the culprit feed. I'm going to try and re-make it. LLLE: The same. When those 2 feeds are updated, the client hangs. The feeds are from private trackers, so how could I get them analyzed and put their info here ?
  5. I also figured out the cause for mini hangs: RSS. As long as I don't have any feeds, there's no hang at utorrent startup. If I add my rss.dat, then all hell breaks loose and I have mini hangs.
  6. So, I found the RAM hog culprit. This setting: When it's checked, everything is fine. When it's unchecked, it takes up all my RAM, regardless of my "override cache size" setting and I can't upload with more than 1 mb/s. This is a real dilemma here, for me, at least, because I have a 100 mbps connection. So, the problem isn't from Stardock, AV or any other thing.
  7. I think that my problem above is due to utorrent not handling the cache options as it should. It does not disable windows caching. This behavior was present in the first 3-4 builds from version 3.0.
  8. Ok, I'll do this too and report back. LE: Excluded in the AV and it's the same. The higher the speed, the higher the RAM taken.
  9. I have Microsoft Security Essentials. I never had any issue with any uTorrent until 3.x. I went back to 2.2.1, same download speeds ( same file ) and it's like it's not even there. If it was from the AV, it should have done the same with all of them.
  10. Now I have another issue, one that was solved until this last build: As you can see, utorrent returned to be a resource hog. I did everything that I thought of. Until this last build, it was normal. Picture order: disk statistics - utorrent on and downloading - utorrent off
  11. Thanks, Firon. I appreciate your answer. Sparse files was on because I had disk overloaded issues without it. Forgot to turn it off. LE: The RSS issue is fixed, thanks for that. The disk overloaded issue is fixed, I see. I didn't have any 3.1 previous to 26595.
  12. Yeah, I don't have any stardock. It's a clean windows, installed a couple of days ago. I don't use stardock or other eye candy software And the RSS feature being broken is also from stardock software ? The pre-allocate all files option broken is from stardock software too ? I never had a hang with utorrent in my life. Only with 3.1. And I'm not the only one complaining about this. But you, the developers, instead of fixing them, you stand here and say "Prove it". Great attitude.
  13. As I said, if the "Disable Windows caching of disk writes" is checked, the mini hangs are gone, but then I can't download, because my speed does not go over 1 mb/s. This issues are caused by the subsystem called bloatware that came since the 3.0 version. Pre-allocate all files does nothing. At least in 2.2.1 I won't have any useless things and all the things work as it should.
  14. What's that have to do with mini hangs in the UI ? I think I'll go back to 2.2.1. The "pre-allocate all files" option is also broken.
  15. It hangs when I remove a torrent or when I use right click etc. Not always, but it's annoying. The hangs usually keep 2-3 seconds. I have windows 7 ultimate x64, q9550 and 4 GB of RAM. If it's unchecked, my download speeds are fine. But if it's unchecked, mini hangs surface.
  16. I have a dilemma. If I check the "Disable Windows caching of disk writes", my download speed does not go over 1 mb/s (I have 100 mbps). If I let it unchecked, then I have mini-hangs. What's the middle ground here ? Also, the RSS feature is still broken. Maybe you can rollback to uT 2.2.1 RSS code. That worked fine.
  17. 26593 hangs like hell. Mini-hangs but they are trully annoying. Also, I'm glad to see that the torrent content window remembers the user defined size.
  18. I didn't even bother to test any further when I saw that the window that shows the content of a torrent file is still broken and can't remember user resize. RC for what if these small bugs aren't fixed ?
  19. It has nothing to do with the view. The window that shows you the content of a torrent file when you add it does not remember position, resize etc. It reverts to default with each new torrent added.
  20. This window is still broken: It doesn't remember the size I set it at. My guess is that this is a simple bug to fix, given the fact that the other windows, including the one from RSS Downloader keep their size after we resize them to fit our needs. It's a bug present since early builds of 3.0 and 3.0.1 and 3.1.0 have the same bug. We'll have this bug until uTorrent reaches version 200 ? I reported this bug every time, even for Plus, but no improvements.

  22. Great, this option is extremely good to have. Now let's test the new build.
  23. The RSS feature should have been left alone. It worked ok in 1.x and 2.x. Also a bug is that all the resize settings are not remembered until you exit utorrent. In 1.x and 2.x they were remembered on the fly.
  24. This happens if you want to edit some old entries too. I know how to bypass it, but I shouldn't have to. uTorrent Plus will be paid. It's not ok for a paid software to have this kind of simple to fix bugs. I hope to see some improvements in the next builds. Also, the antivirus is not ok, tbh. It could affect speeds if it has some issues with the one installed on the user's pc. OS: Win 7 x64
