wbwiltshire
I have been using Azureus, so I have all the port forwarding / firewall stuff setup properly. I downloaded version 1.1.6, mostly because Azureus uses too much memory and I'd like a lighter client. I configured the uTorrent->Network setting to reflect the open bitTorrent port, but I can't get any torrents to start downloading. The logger says "uTorrent Initializing..." and I get an upside down triangle with a red minus sign on the torrents. It says downloading in the status, but I'm not connecting to any peers.Any ideas on what the problem may be?
vurlix
Seems like the torrent's tracker is down. Try some other torrents (from other sites) and see if you get the same results.
wbwiltshire
Yes, I've tried several torrents and they work fine w/ Azureus but no joy on uTorrent. Very puzzling.
chaosblade
The logger is off by default. Right click in it to enable Logging and verbose modes. Try running only one torrent that fails after doing so, And let us know what kind of errors do you get. Also, try using http://grc.com/x/portprobe=<your port> and see if it detects that port as open. wbwiltshire
Thanks for the tip on logging. Turned it on in verbose mode, then tried 3 seperate torrents (one from piratebay.org and 2 from revision3.com). None of them worked and I can't cut and paste the log here, so I'll summarize:[timestamp] : Incoming connection from [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx][timestamp] : Incoming connection from [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx][timestamp] : [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] : Disconnect : Peer error : offline (timed out)[timestamp] : [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx] : Disconnect : Invalid torrent[timestamp] : Incoming connection from [xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]The log is filled with these. The only thing that changes is the timestamps and the IP addresses. As for the results of the port probe from GRC, it says my port is OPEN. I hope this is enough info. Let me know if you need anything else.
