dudeboyz Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 I usually have my Utorrent window located on the lower right corner of the screen, in a rectangle that is about 1/4 as high as it is long. There is enough space for about 8 torrents to display in the list. It looks great and works well.EXCEPT that since the Preferences dialog has gotten larger, I have noticed that when I open that dialog box to adjust settings, it now opens so that the bottom 1/3rd is cut off.I can move the dialog up by dragging the title bar, but the next time I run Utorrent and open a dialog, it defaults to the same starting position.I would like to see an option added that will prevent dialog boxes in the program from opening in a location where part of that dialog resides offscreen. So if the bottom of the dialog would be cut off by the screen and taskbar, the pixel location for that dialog would be adjusted so the bottom of the dialog resides above the taskbar.Either that, or an option to "Remember Window / Dialog Positions" so that I can manually locate them where I wish them to be, and have it come up in that same location each time I run Utorrent.Would it be possible to have someone consider this addition? Sure would seem like a practical feature for the UI, don't you think? I hope I'm explaining this well enough to be understood.I guess it's a fairly minor deal if you don't configure Utorrent very often, but for those of us that do, it would be a spiffy change.I look forward to hearing back from the Utorrent folks on this one. Thanks
Ultima Posted June 29, 2006 Report Posted June 29, 2006 Yeah I'd been thinking about this as well -- wouldn't be all that hard to do anyway. Who knows.
dudeboyz Posted July 1, 2006 Author Report Posted July 1, 2006 I just downloaded the 1.6 Standard - did someone make the change already?I'm not sure, but it looks like 1.6 corrected the issue. I'll do more testing.Anyone have some info? Thanks
dudeboyz Posted July 3, 2006 Author Report Posted July 3, 2006 I have to say, yet again, thanks much to those involved for listening and tweaking. It is a VERY cool thing to have developers and folks surrounding the project keep their eyes and ears open when it comes to its user base.I may not agree with every change ever made with Utorrent, but the pluses far, far outweigh the few negatives when it comes to Utorrent.I'm grateful to you all for working on and putting out a FREE product that is so lean and efficient, yet somehow full of the most useful features users could hope for.Thank you all for your efforts, and to the community for supporting this outstanding alternative to the "big boys" out there.
