Upgrading to Windows 10

Shouldn't be unless you changed folder or preferences on where and how they are saved. But as anything Windows isn't utorrent software so we don't give support or help for it that will have to be done with Microsoft or Microsoft forums.

Maybe you should go to a Windows forum and ask the question there before coming here.

I feel the Windows forum would give the same type of response.

But as anything uTorrent isn't the Windows OS so we don't give support or help for it that will have to be done with uTorrent forums.

I feel this forum is more applicable and I imagine users of this forum are more likely to have gone through the exact issue I am asking about than I'd expect Windows forum users would. In other words, every person on the uTorrent forum knows, and/or uses Windows. Not every person on the Windows forum knows of, and/or uses uTorrent.

This is mainly for purpose of utorrent and problem relating to utorrent. And if one read the Forum thread it says "utorrent for Windows" not a Windows support forum. We have to be realstic here when asking for utorrent help running in Windows Environment. If one really wants Windows question then you can always email Windows support and ask them those questions if they don't want to ask in the Windows Forum.

I've had good results with uTorrent on a USB hard drive.  I simply created a uTorrent folder on the drive, copied the uTorrent install EXE into that folder, and then opened it.  The complete uTorrent framework was created there, totally independent of my computer system disk.  With this configuration, I can move this USB drive from my XP laptop, to a Windows 7 desktop, to a new Windows 7 laptop.  This is totally seamless, provided I ensure that the same drive letter is used for the USB drive.  If the drive letter changes, I have to add back any existing torrents since uTorrent is still using the old drive letter.  The real down side being that the torrent content has to be re-checked.  That rarely happens though, as this has taught me to be careful about drive letters...

Truthfully, I haven't tried any other torrent products.  I found that the implementation of uTorrent is clearly a work of art by the development team.  It's versatility is incredible.  Using this portability feature means that I don't have to go looking for uTorrent files in various system and personal folders.  I ain't afraid of no Windows upgrade.

This is where most users aren't savvy to figure this part out. This is why one should do this only if they are PC savvy and know about this before going and plugging in USB and not realize the drive letter is different from the previous computer and this can cause more problems then it helps.
