Hello everyone,

sorry to bother you, but i have been experiencing some odd utorrent crashes. I never had any problem before (been using utorrent from ages) and i didn't change anything specific to my pc. I run some testes, even HDD diagnostic tools, but nothing seems to be wrong. Here is the dump of the crash: http://www.filedropper.com/40760-utorrent9bed .Im on Windows 7 64 bit. Can someone help me analizing those dumps pls?

Thanks very much

I don't have a solution, but i wanted to echo this problem.  I've got the same version and same build number and i've been experiencing MANY problems with utorrent either (a) crashing completely or (B) freezing and not responding recently.  I don't think that i've updated my client in awhile, but this problem started i would say a week to 10 days ago.  Am running it on Windows 7, so OS changes could be causing the behavior.  Prior to this recent behavior, utorrent would run for weeks without issue.  Suddenly, i can't make it 24 hours and my utorrent client has gone unresponsive three times just TODAY.

So, i wanted to simply echo that this isn't a single occurrence.  How would i create a dump of the crash?  In most cases, i am having to terminate the program manually.

cheers!

Just want to let the developers know that 40962 is MUCH more stable than 40760 and 40854. Before they always crashed within a minute or two with a zero-length dump file. I'm still getting advertising security errors, but so far it's been running rock solid for most of an hour. I didn't test 3.4.5 stable though, just the latest beta.

I am just getting perpetual crashing with the 40760 build.  I had to kill a non-responsive client 3 times today.  I tried moving to a more recent build (40786) and i get the (even more baffling) issue where running the .exe "seems" to install a shortcut, only when i click on it, i get a Windows error saying "You are attempting to use and old or outdated shortcut.  Do you want to delete this?".  An odd message, considering that i went to a newer build....  If i say "no", it doesn't appear there's a program to run.  If i do, there's no uTorrent installed, and i actually have to do it twice to delete the shortcut.  I'm just utterly baffled by how this program has gone completely south for me in one week's time.  When i try and download the standard version from the website, my Norton anti-virus says its not safe and deletes it.

To top it all off, i can apparently only post on this forum once a day, until i've gone like 6 more days of  "approved posts" at one post per day??!  Ugh.  Suddenly, i'm looking at other bit torrent clients, because uTorrent won't (a) stay running for more than a couple of hours and second, i can't seem to install a client on my computer.

Ten days ago, i considered uTorrent one of the most stable programs on my computer.  Now, i can't even get a stable build onto my machine.  I'm utterly baffled by this.

Norton is the real virus. You can just UPX unpack the exe to prevent all virus warnings by shitty anti-virus.

Later, i tried to go to a newer version of uTorrent, but again i was warned about bloatware OpenCandy wanting to gather information from my machine.  That's bloatware i don't want on my computer.

Trashing Norton isn't really helpful to me.  Sure Norton puts its nose into everything, but i've also had ZERO crashes and my computer is clean.  I resolved my issue by (a) finding an older (more stable) version of uTorrent and (B) going into Preferences and unchecking "Automatically Install Updates".  I have NO interest in being on the bleeding edge of software here, i just want something that is stable and works and doesn't give advertisers information about me.
