please help

hey, just got u torrent yesterday and so far i've downloaded one torrent file and currently seeding. i am in the process of downloading another one, but it seems that i am downloading from peers not seeder (0 out of 218 seeder and 43 out of 770 peers). I know that peer doesn't have a complete file so sooner or later i will need to download from the seeder. Out of 220 MB downloaded there are 20 hash fail. so i guess my question is, Will i be able to complete this download? or is this a corrupt file and how do i go about looking for files that are not corrupted. What should i do?

If the torrent isn't heavily poisoned (and it likely is if you haven't connected to ANY seeders!), then you'll likely be able to complete the file just downloading from peers. Not all peers have the same parts, and at least some of them are downloading from seeders...so with enough peers you can still download the whole torrent. 43 peers should be plenty for that task.

thankyou for the response, another thing is once my download got to about 40% my download speed went down from about from about 30 kB/s to almost nothing and it's been like this for a while but my up load speed seem to be constant. i was wondering if this is normal? i am new to utorrent so i apologize if this may seem like a stupid question.

It does seem like a fate torrent, if you look in the peer colum, how many % does the other people you are connected have? if a lot of them are stuck at a certain %, it's very likely that the torrent file is either fake or poisoned, and you're going to have to find an alternative torrent.
