Windows ran out of memory when creating torrent

Hi all

I'm currently using uTorrent 3.4.5 (Build 41801) 32bit. I'm using an i5, 4GB RAM and 64bit Windows 8.1 and applied all windows updates.

This is the first time I'm creating a torrent but I've run into a problem.

The torrent i'm trying to make is 19GB, which includes 113 files and 6 folders.

I begin to create the torrent, and it takes sometime to create (guessing due to being 19GB), then when it gets to about 80% it crashes and gives me the following error:

Windows ran out of memory. Unable to allocate 32768000 bytes.
Please close some applications and press OK.

I've googled the error but I can't seem to find a solution. ANY help, tips or solutions will be greatly appreciated. All I want to do is share some files and I can't !

You may need to use a 3rd party torrent maker.

You could try http://wiki.depthstrike.com/wiki/EAD:Utilities:TorrentBuild

thanks dread ... i've downloaded TorrentBuild (which is very old to my surprise) ... I'm trying to make the torrent now. I've put in my multitracker url's but then it wants a Announce URL, I'm not sure what that is. It asks to I still want to continue, but I pressed no for now because i don't know what I'm doing

Not sure but utorrent forum isn't in the business of helping one create torrents. Did you not contact torrentbuild for more help on how to create torrents?

Well technically I need help as to why utorrent is crashing ... utorrent creates torrents doesn't it ? and it crashes when creating a torrent.

I don't mean to be rude, but perhaps if this utorrent forum is not in the business of helping one create torrents, then that option in utorrent should be removed. (I understand where you coming from and why you said that but where else could I go for help with utorrent issues ??

Unfortunately because I don't yet have an answer to why its crashing, I have to resort to third party software for now.

The torrent generation code in uTorrent has been broken for a while.

And monolithic tracker lists (even the one you're putting in is excessive) don't actually help users.

I have exactly the same problem. It mainly occurs on very large torrents.

I see this was posted in February. It's May now. When will it be fixed?

And what do you mean by "monolithic tracker list"?

Same problem here too, but i never had it before...my folder is 17GB and every time the torrent generation reaches about 50% of the bar uTorrent crashes.
