dezzo Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 I already have µTorrent installed under C:\Program Files\µTorrent and I've just been replacing the .exe manually each time a new version was released. This time I decided to try the new installer, and it installed it to C:\Program Files\uTorrent.Notice the difference between µ and u in the path names.Because the installer didn't detect that µTorrent was already installed in the µTorrent folder, I ended up with two copies installed on my system, the 1.6 RC1, and 1.6 Final.I think the installer should examine the system to see if a previous version is installed, and if so, overwrite it in the current location, or update and move the old version to the new preferred folder, and transfer the settings. This will help eliminate any confusion that could result in situations like this, especially where for such a long time the installs were done manually.
Firon Posted July 1, 2006 Report Posted July 1, 2006 The installer doesn't really install at all, so yeah detection = not possible. And this was changed at some point because NSIS isn't unicode.
