helenvee
I have a few files I downloaded a couple computers ago. I keep all my torrents and downloaded files in my Downloads folder. When I drag the downloaded files into itunes, itunes makes its own copy in the itunes folder and renames the folder and the files for uniformity and organization within the itunes folder. the original downloaded files with the file path names that match the torrent stay in the downloads folder, and that is where they are seeded from. When I switched to a new computer I forgot to copy over the contents of the downloads folder. I was able to re-download the torrent files, and I thought I could drag the actual files over from the itunes folder and reseed. I copied the files to the download folder along with the torrent file, I made sure the names of all the folders and the files within the folders matched the info in the torrent, I added the torent to utorrent, but when I try to do force recheck, it gets stuck. Why can't it see these files? Is there some info or file name I have to rename or include in the folder? I can't tell just by looking at it, it looks like it matches. am I misunderstanding how torrents and seeding work? Is there any way to reseed these without redownloading the files, and therefore messing with the ratio on my tracker?
